#Enginuity365 week 21 😃 Ive been really looking forward to this week .... I ❤️ this campaign shining a light on Women in STEM and the allys supporting them. We all understand the value of male allys in a male dominated sector. One gentleman I came across over seven years ago Prof Mehmet Karamanoglu. I had some apprentices involved in WorldSkills UK and he was very inspiring. Ive been fortunate to meet him a couple of times since. His legacy is HUGE and we have many incredible female #engineers because of him. So week 21 is for Prof Mehmet Karamanoglu and six incredible engineers that are thankful for his guidance, support and championing Women in STEM Camila Rey da Rosa puts it perfectly ..... "Professor Mehmet has been an extraordinary mentor and a tireless ambassador for women in engineering. From the outset of my apprenticeship at Amazon while simultaneously pursuing a BEng in Biomedical Engineering at Middlesex University and serving as Vice-Chair of the WES Apprentice Board his unwavering support has been instrumental. He introduced me to the WorldSkills UK competition, through which I gained invaluable technical knowledge and industry connections. His nomination led to my successful receipt of an Automate UK scholarship, and his encouragement inspired me to pursue a Master’s degree in Automation and Systems Engineering. Professor Mehmet’s humility, kindness, and steadfast guidance whether in academia, industry, or during life’s unforeseen challenges have left an indelible mark on my personal and professional development. I am profoundly grateful for his mentorship, and I strive to reflect his example by supporting others in their engineering journeys." 🌟 I think that sums you Prof Mehmet impact perfectly and how important Male Allys are 👏👏👏👏 The amazing Engineers this week Camila Rey da Rosa who will forever be the paddle boarding apprentice to me ! 😃 a huge advocate for women in stem now a solution engineer with Siemens in the Netherlands Lucy Yelland yelland whoI met in Lyon last year representating the UK at WorldSkills UK in Lyon an amazing role model inspiring young females.
