*Content warning: death and grief* Most adults spend at least a third of their time at work. So, as workplaces are a major part of people’s lives, they have a crucial role to play in supporting bereaved employees. Here are four ways to support a grieving colleague and create a compassionate, inclusive environment: https://brnw.ch/21wPbAW (Image description: Two colleagues are chatting. About us
We are Mental Health First Aid England. We’re a social enterprise with a vision to improve the mental health of the nation. Our evidence-based training gives people tools to support themselves and each other, so everyone can talk about mental health and seek help when needed. Most adults spend at least a third of their time at work, so we start there to change how society deals with mental health now and in the future. Over the last decade, we’ve provided expert consultancy and training to over 20,000 workplaces. We want mentally healthy workplaces for all. We campaign for equality between mental and physical health in the workplace. We advocate a whole organisation approach and lead by example. As a social enterprise, we reinvest our profits to support the next generation. We offer free and discounted training to those in the sports and recreation sectors working with young people. Together, let’s create a society where everyone’s mental health matters.

💼 How do we tackle presenteeism in the workplace? We are talking more about mental health than ever, but too many people still feel they cannot take time off when they need it. Instead, they show up unwell, in person or online. This is presenteeism, and it is costing individuals and organisations dearly. 📉 The cost to UK employers has risen by £30 billion since 2018 💬 84 percent of HR leads have seen it increase in remote workers 🚩 It is a clear sign of workplace cultures lacking psychological safety At MHFA England, we believe mental health should come before presenteeism. Our latest blog explores: The causes and consequences of presenteeism, practical ways employers can address it, and how training managers to support mental health makes all the difference 📖 Read the full blog: https://brnw.ch/21wTxpX #MentalHealth #Presenteeism #WorkplaceWellbeing #PsychologicalSafety #PeopleFirst #Leadership #MHFA #Productivity (Image description: A blurred crowd of people walking in different directions with the text "How do we tackle presenteeism in the workplace?" overlaid)
