Inspiring. Empowering. Inclusive. Welcoming. Informative. These are just a few of the words Scottish Renewables’ New Voices used to describe the campaign, sponsored by Ørsted, as it wrapped up for its second year. Perhaps the most consistent theme to emerge was the power of the New Voices community. Again and again, participants highlighted that the connections they had made within the cohort were the most valuable part of their experience. ⬇️ Read more in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/ei4axdzF.

Last week Morag Watson, Director of Onshore, joined a CBI reception in Peterhead where Rt Hon Rachel Reeves MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer, outlined how the UK Government’s Spending Review will boost employment across Scotland’s energy industry. Published in June, the Spending Review sets out record public investment in renewable energy. For Scotland, announcements included: ➡️ Aberdeen as the headquarters of Great British Energy ➡️ £300 million for GBE to invest in offshore wind supply chains ➡️ A North East Scotland Investment Zone, focused on floating wind and green hydrogen, expected to attract around £220 million and create around 8,000 jobs. ➡️ Full approval of the Inverness & Cromarty Firth Green Freeport, unlocking £25 million seed funding, aiming to deliver £6 billion in private investment and up to 18,300 jobs.
