Our latest research shows that 123 million unused devices are currently stored in UK homes – often kept due to sentimentality with 46% of people feeling emotionally attached to them. As we mark the fifth anniversary of Community Calling, our initiative with charity Hubbub, we’re encouraging people to donate old devices to those who need them most. Since 2020, Community Calling has donated more than 24,000 devices to those in need. Making lifesaving equipment more accessible 🫀 Since 2020, we've rolled out live saving defibrillators to all stores as well as 500 company vans across the UK. With OurJay Foundation, we’re now making more of defibrillators accessible 24/7, starting with stores in Rugby and Nuneaton. These stores will have defibrillator cabinets installed outside, meaning the defibrillators are readily available 24/7 if they are needed, even if the O2 store is closed. With over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests each year in the UK, it’s hoped that these defibrillators will make the life-saving difference when seconds matter.
