I left Wallace High School in Lisburn with 3 good science A levels, in the days that 3 looked like a good haul. Made the giant (8 mile) move in 1984 to Queens University in Belfast to study Physics. After a year I switched major to Psychology which I achieved a 2:1 in. My experimental prowess meant that I got a PhD grant to study models of seeing with applications in the field of robot vision.
