“Xisen has been one of the top performers of Vela's AI research internship program among ~80 interns over the years and 2K+ Oxford applicants. He reported to me during his time, and I was able to observe his work on a day to day basis. He came with huge enthusiasm and proposed a plan to improve the existing LLM-based research project further. Then, he was able to execute rapidly and solve highly technical challenges problems in a short period. In fact, when he proposed that he would do his proposal in that time frame, I was skeptical and encouraged him to descope. However, he worked day and night to deliver and surprised me. I was pleasantly surprised about his technical knowledge about LLMs and machine learning. He used advanced prompting techniques alongside ML models. More importantly, he married that with his knowledge with venture capital thanks to his participation of VC club in the University of Oxford and startup experience. He is a top talent. I'd work with him again in a heartbeat.”
