Rapper and Grammy-winning artist Lil Nas X was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday morning after police took action on reports of a nearly naked man walking along Ventura Boulevard in Studio City. The artist’s real name is Montero Lamar Hill, who was also taken under custody before 6 am after reportedly charging at officers, as LAPD spokesman Officer Charles Miller stated to the Associated Press.

Why was Lil Nas X arrested?

Authorities believe that it may be a case of drug overdose. He was first sent to a hospital before being taken to Valley Jail in Van Nuys a few hours later. He was held on doubts of misconduct obstructing an officer. As per a video clip obtained by TMZ, a 26-year-old walking in underwear and boots was seen interacting with onlookers.

According to a report by People, Lil Nas X was officially booked on a misdemeanor charge after the incident, following a probe at the hospital. The media outlet added that he was later shifted to jail at 11:22 am and was likely to face court proceedings linked to the arrest. The police have not provided the exact information on his current condition, and his representative has also not issued a public statement.
