It is a wonder that Emmas Freemans short film was the 2002 winner of the worlds largest short film festival, Trophest. "Lamb" explores themes such as friendship, sympathy, poverty and cruelty will have you on the edge of your seat both laughing and crying during the intense duration of the short film.

The short film gives insight into the dark and sad lives of a poor farmer and his his young blind son will their pet dog and lamb in a drought stricken countryside in Australia.

The music during the film is very intense during the film at certain parts which would have you on the edge of your seat holding in your breath afraid of what will happen. the colours give you a good insight of what it looked like to be poor in a drought stricken country in 2002. You will experience colours such as mustardy, creamy, dull, dark and sad colours.

However I do not think that the film is very suitable for young children with some intense seens.

Lamb is a short film that is directed byn emma freeman ,which shows the realationship between a father and son who are under alot of pressure,and how one decision affects lots of different people and changes the circumstances dramatically.Lamb is a short film that would leave you quite shocked.This short fim will leave you happy and sad all at the same time.

The short film is opened with a boy enjoying the small things in life,and his father who is a farmer struggling through a drought living in a dark dismal barn-like house which is surrounded by nothing but faded dry ,yellowand brown coloured feilds that stretchfor miles.Ther is not a drop of refreshing water in sight.The boy who is around 9 or 10 is blind which makes the film both dramatic and sad espically when his father is faced with a difficult decision.What will he do to survive.

Ireally enjoyed how the music really carries this filmand makes all the scences really over dramatic and accentuates the mood of each scence particulary in the final scence the music gets loader and more upbeat at each step the boy takes towards what he thinks is familiar but he will never really know ......

It will have you both smiling and tearing up during its seven minute duration. This short film gives insight to the life of a young, blind boy living with his farmer father in the rural countryside of Australia during a devastating drought. His father is struggling to feed himself and his son as his crops won't grow on the dehydrated land and the only animal left on his farm is a small lamb who is the lonely boy's only friend. The boy finds solace in the lamb and everyday spends time running his hands through the lambs soft wool. What lengths will the father go to in order to ensure that him and his son survive in this devastating time of crisis? The good points I found about this short film is that the score is very effective. The composer has done an excellent job in making scenes even more emotional with a very interesting soundtrack. The crescendo is very intense and you are always wondering what will happen next in the lives of the father and his son. The actors' performance's are excellent and the short film includes a lot of close-ups so the characters' emotions are even more visible to the viewers. The only bad point i found about this short film is that some scenes are emotional and somewhat dramatic which makes them hard to watch especially for young audiences. In conclusion, I rate this short film 'Lamb' a 9 star rating as it is emotional, explores a lot of touching themes, the acting is excellent and the score is very effective

It is no wonder that Emma Freeman's film was the 2002 winner of the world's largest short film festival .The story line is very deep and thought provoking,producing and overall is full of dull images ,conveying a very poor kind of setting.

The short film gives insight into the dark lives of a young blind boy and his father.They live in a very dark and dull looking house with a dog and a lamb.The young blind boy goes out ti the lamb everyday to pet it and give it affection, but the father has to make a very tough decision in order for them to survive.

I liked this movie because it shows that there are a lot of people in the world who are poor .It also shows the powerful friendship that a human can have with an animal.Seeing how caring,enjoyable and comforting the boy was to the animal .

I didn't like the music in this short film. Overall i don't think the soundtrack reached it's potential at all.

I like this short film although i thought the soundtrack was disappointing. I loved the way such a strong massage about friendship and poverty was put across. The dark and dull colors in the short film give a very sad and depressing effect witch made the story line so effective.
