First, set clear expectations, ensuring everyone understands their role’s impact. Transparency is key — regular check-ins and open conversations will highlight challenges without blame. Also empower the team with autonomy, showing trust in their decisions while holding them accountable for results. Recognition matters — celebrate wins, big or small, and tie ownership to rewards. If mistakes happen, you’ll focus on learning, not finger-pointing. Leading by example, own your actions and decisions, setting the tone for accountability. Lastly, create a culture where accountability isn’t a punishment but a source of pride. When people see their contributions matter, they’ll step up — not because they have to, but because they want to.

Encourage team members to take ownership of their tasks by celebrating individual and team accomplishments. Acknowledgment can motivate accountability. Cultivate an environment where open dialogue is the norm. This ensures issues or roadblocks are discussed early and resolved collaboratively. Trust your team members to make decisions within their roles. It fosters a sense of responsibility and initiative. After each project, hold retrospectives to assess what went well, what didn’t, and how to improve. This embeds learning and personal growth.

Avoiding responsibilities is the major reason for collapsing the organisation so if anyone faces this kind of issues then they have to take some serious actions. The first thing they can do is talk with the team and get the reason behind this If the reason is accountable then resolve it right there. Secondly, build trust within the team and confirm them that the organisation will not be betrayed with them and every hard work will be paid. Lastly, if they are still avoiding responsibilities then fire the whole team because due to some people we cannot risk other employees futures. Sometimes we have to take strong decisions.

To inspire accountability and ownership, it's essential to have: »Leading by example: if a leader doesn't take responsability or avoids challenges, the team will follow the same path. On the other hand, demonstrating commitment, owning mistakes, and seeking solutions inspires everyone to do the same. »Transparent communication: a team can only take ownership when they clearly understand what is expected of them. Defining roles, objectives, and desired outcomes prevents misunderstandings and fosters a culture of trust. »Recognition and rewards: appreciation and incentives are important. Celebrating individual and collective achievements boosts motivation and reinforces a culture of accountability.

    1. Setting clear goals, completely understandable for all the member of the team. 2. Divide tasks according to their personal skills and experience. 3. Encourage self evaluation in every step of the journey. 4. Eliminate the culture of judgment, let your team make mistakes without condemning them; it is an important step for growing. 5. Let every person chose their own "accountability comitee", people they go to for evaluation and feedback. 6. If the lack of accountability is repetitive in some people, evaluate if their vision aligns with your companies'. If they are not aligned, it might be better to reestructure the team.
