Building trust takes time, even in in-person settings, much more so when working remotely. Every person is different, some might have more remote work experience than others, and while some look for it, others might not. As a manager, it is important to reset your expectations. Take care to have regular, preferably weekly 1/1s with the team. Encourage socializing in team settings (ice breakers are always a good way to get the conversation going), and impromptu, informal communication, and generally understand this might take a little longer than you think.

Building trust in a remote team starts with clear, consistent communication. Schedule regular check-ins via video calls and 1:1 meetings when possible to discuss progress, challenges, and even personal updates. Be transparent about goals and decisions, and empower your team to take ownership of their work. Encourage open dialogue and active listening, so everyone feels heard. Celebrate wins, both big and small, and foster an environment where feedback is welcome. By showing empathy, reliability, and genuine care, you build a culture of trust that overcomes the hurdles of distance.

One of the positive perspective of Covid Pandemic is that it gave us the new ways to handle things remotely where initially it was a challenge but later on many people proved themselves an effective leaders to manage things virtually. The key points for remote handling is: - The team gets a chance to work independently in their own capacity and with their own resources, which actually helped the leaders to find some hidden talents who were initially being overshadowed by some number makers. - The actual use parity between Responsibility & Authority and the new entrant as Money.

Building trust in a remote team isn’t about micromanaging—it’s about connection. 🌍 Here’s what works for me: - Consistent check-ins - not just about work, but how people are doing. - Clear expectations - no guessing games, just clarity. - Virtual hangouts - a little casual chat goes a long way. Trust is built through actions, not just policies. How do you keep your remote team connected and engaged? 🚀
