A NASCAR Cup Series racing team.
About us
23XI Racing – pronounced twenty-three eleven – was founded by NBA legend Michael Jordan and three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin in 2020. With rising NASCAR star Bubba Wallace selected to drive the No. 23 Toyota Camry, the team made its NASCAR Cup Series debut in the 2021 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Wallace made history on October 4, 2021, when he captured his first career Cup Series win, becoming just the second African American to win in the Cup Series, and earning 23XI its first-ever victory. 23XI expanded to a two-car organization in 2022 with Cup Series Champion Kurt Busch driving the No. 45 Toyota Camry. With a win at Kansas Speedway in May of 2022, Busch earned 23XI the team’s first-ever playoff berth. In 2024, Tyler Reddick won the Regular Season Championship and raced to a spot in the Championship 4, a first for both the team and Reddick. 23XI currently features the lineup of Bubba Wallace in the No. 23 Toyota Camry XSE, Tyler Reddick in the No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE, Riley Herbst in the No. 35 Toyota Camry XSE and Corey Heim as the team’s development driver. The team operates out of Airspeed, a state-of-the-art facility in Huntersville, N.C. that opened in January of 2024.

We had the honor of hosting United States Air Force JROTC cadets from North Mecklenburg High School, East Mecklenburg High School, West Mecklenburg High School and Julius L. Chambers High School for their Summer Leadership Training at Airspeed. Their visit was packed with high-impact experiences, from navigating an F-16 Fighting Falcon through a canyon using a real-life throttle and stick, to mastering the art of midair refueling in a KC-135 Stratotanker boom pod simulator with a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber in sight. Cadets toured our Airspeed facility, heard from a dynamic panel of professionals representing both 23XI Racing and the U.S. Air Force, and got a front-row look at our elite pit crew in action. These hands-on moments built more than just skills, they built inspiration. We’re proud to play a small part in shaping the next generation of leaders.

It was a pleasure to welcome this talented cohort to Airspeed. Our team enjoyed the opportunity to speak with the scholars, share more about our work, and engage in meaningful conversation throughout their visit. We always value the chance to connect with the next generation of leaders and innovators.
🔔2025 CLT FELLOWSHIP UPDATE🔔 As part of the Fellowship Program, the entire cohort participates in weekly site visits with each partner organization where they learn directly from the industry professionals on their career path and gain insight on how to navigate a career in sports. 📍Yesterday, the cohort split into two groups for site visits — Cohort A visited 23XI Racing, while Cohort B visited Charlotte Motor Speedway! 💜Thank you to the 23XI and Charlotte Motor Speedway teams for hosting our fellows + supporting our mission. 23XI Racing - Nathan Ricketts, Lia Esposito, Broadus Roberson, Sydnei Fryson, Amber Langley, Austin Dickey Charlotte Motor Speedway - Jennifer (Kolpasky) Blake, Hayley Hood, Markayla McInnis, Khadijah Segura, Tracy Rich, Stephanie Velasco Alexa Brezeault is the 23XI Racing Fellow this summer and is working with the partnerships and marketing departments! Alissa Liptak is the Charlotte Motor Speedway Fellow this summer and is working with the events department! 💡Hear from our Fellows, Hayden Hord and Ziyera Walker on how their experiences impacted them: Hayden Hord (Cohort A) “My main takeaway from 23XI was how much collaboration and adaptability are required in the sports industry to keep pushing forward! It was great to gain insight on how much it takes to run a race team in the motorsports industry. It was eye-opening to see how many moving parts go into a race weekend, from operations and engineering to marketing and partnerships, and how all of these areas need to work together to create success on and off the track. It was also very cool to meet Tyler Reddick and connect with him throughout his successful career." Ziyera Walker (Cohort B) “My key takeaway from the site visit to Charlotte Motor Speedway was to never dim your light — even when you’re surrounded by big names and major brands. It’s important to remember that you bring value to the table, too. You also have to recognize when an opportunity is presented to you , and advocate for yourself. Sometimes you have to move out to move up!” ✨ Stay tuned for more updates and highlights of our partner organizations!

As Men's Health Month comes to a close, we’re proud to partner with Atrium Health to spotlight the importance of prioritizing mental well-being. At 23XI, our team is fueled by strength, focus, and drive both on and off the track. Behind every high-performance role is a person with pressures, responsibilities, and the need for care. That’s why we invited our resident Sports Psychologist, Eddie O'Connor, PhD, CMPC, to lead a powerful Lunch & Learn titled "Overcoming the Barriers to Self-Care." In this interactive session, Dr. O’Connor explored five key barriers that often prevent men from investing in their own well-being. He offered practical strategies to move past each one. Every attendee walked away with a personal commitment to self-care, designed to support their health and enhance their performance in the areas that matter most.
