    Our Women@ Affirm ERG is a global community spanning the US, UK, Spain, Poland, and Canada, dedicated to fostering positive change, empowerment, connection, and support for women at the company and their allies. Catalina (Cate) Rotaru, Women@ Europe Co-Lead shares, “We’ve really propelled our mission forward in the past couple years with initiatives like our mentorship program, which had over 100 women and their allies signed up to either be a mentor or mentee with a focus on skillbuilding and networking. During Women’s History Month in the US and Europe, we also drove a global “Women Supporting Women” campaign which was all about fostering authentic connections between women and their allies and learning from each other’s experiences.” The collective effort of those leading the ERG hasn’t gone unnoticed. Recently, Cate represented Affirm at the Unite UnderOne Awards in London where the Women@ Affirm ERG was nominated for the Trailblazer Employee Resource Group Award. “It was an honor to represent Affirm at the nomination ceremony and I’m excited to continue the work we’re doing as a group,” shared Cate. #womenataffirm

    Today we released a new analysis showing how Affirm can help consumers save money over traditional credit cards: U.S. households could have saved nearly $18B in total using Affirm over revolving credit cards in 2024. “Consumers are always looking for more value for less money. One place they will not readily find it is via traditional credit cards,“ writes our COO Michael Linford in a new blog post. “Revolving on a credit card should be called buy now, pay forever.” Unlike credit cards, Affirm never charges late or hidden fees, or compound interest, and underwrites every individual transaction.     Revolving credit is designed to keep people in debt — and it’s working. Access to credit is important for people to manage their financial lives, but the $1.3 trillion in nationwide credit card debt shows that today’s credit offerings often fail consumers. This isn’t a bug — it’s a business model. Fortunately, consumers are smarter than they are given credit for. I'm happy to show in this post what moving to more transparent forms of credit like Affirm can save them.     Leaders from our employee-led and funded non-profit, Affirm Cares, recently gathered in San Francisco for our annual Affirm Cares Leadership Summit which focused on deepening our commitment to community engagement and volunteerism. Rohit Kumar Peela, Software Engineer and Vice Chair of the Affirm Cares Leadership Committee shared:  “A highlight of the summit was volunteering at Glide Memorial in San Francisco, where we helped serve lunch as part of their Daily Free Meals Program, which provides thousands of meals each day to those impacted by poverty, housing instability, and limited food access. It was a powerful reminder of the impact even a few hours of our time can make. The summit was also a good reminder of how much collective potential we have when we align around purpose. The energy, ideas and shared commitment in the room made me excited about the impact we can create together.” The summit also featured an inspiring panel discussion with representatives from several of our grant recipient partners including East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC), HealthRIGHT 360, Hamilton Families and The Last Mile.     Affirm’s Founder and CEO Max Levchin spoke to BBC News about how and why Affirm was founded, its growth in the US and Canada, and launch in the UK last year. Over a decade after our founding, we continue to deliver on our mission to build honest financial products that improve lives.
