  • Last week, AKF hosted our 20th Annual New York Golf Classic at North Hills Country Club in Manhasset, NY. It was a beautiful day to come together on the greens to raise funds for the kidney community ☀️   From the first tee-off to the final putt, the day was filled with camaraderie, friendly competition, and—most importantly—a shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of those living with kidney disease. Thanks to the generosity of our golfers, sponsors, and volunteers, we were able to raise critical funds for vital programs, resources, and care.   A heartfelt thank you to: ⛳ Our Generous Sponsors - Flushing Bank, Cullen and Dykman LLP, Maximum Security USA, Savills and MACRO, A Savills Company ⛳ Our Dedicated Planning Committee Chair - Maria Grasso ⛳ Our Wonderful 2025 Honorees - Jim Wenk and Shay Bolton   Events like this help AKF ensure that no one has to face kidney disease alone, and that we are all in the fight against kidney disease, together. Thank you again to everyone who joined us!💙

  • The American Kidney Fund was proud to participate in the 2025 World Transplant Congress in San Francisco, connecting with leaders, clinicians, researchers, and advocates in the field of transplantation. A highlight of the conference was the session on August 3rd, “Understanding Post-Transplant Surveillance Through Patient Eyes.” This educational session explored transplant monitoring from the patient perspective, featuring insights from: 👉 Dr. Gates Colbert, Nephrologist 👉JoDee DeVillier, kidney health advocate and caregiver 👉 Daniel DeVillier, kidney transplant recipient 👉Jen Benson, kidney transplant recipient, patient advocate, and founder of The Transplant Journey Inc. Following the discussion, attendees engaged directly with our panelists, continuing important conversations about patient-centered care in transplantation. AKF thanks Natera for supporting the roundtable discussion. We’re grateful to everyone who took part in our CME activity on August 5th and who stopped by the American Kidney Fund booth to talk with our staff and learn more about our Kidney Health for All™ initiative, the Unknown Causes of Kidney Disease Project, CME courses for professionals, and other AKF resources available for supporting the kidney community. #WTC2025 American Society of Transplantation
