Big news and an even bigger milestone! Last week, APM Terminals Pier 400 set an all-time weekly record of 40,834 container lifts, the highest ever for our terminal, Port of Los Angeles, and the San Pedro Bay Complex. This milestone reflects the commitment of the ILWU labor force, along with our Pacific Crane Maintenance Company mechanics, contractors, and Pier 400 staff. Together, they delivered a safe, efficient performance, while helping keep the global supply chain strong. For our 3rd Annual Kids Day, we invited the families of our APM Terminals - Pier 400 Los Angeles employees to come explore, learn about the terminal and what their family member does in a fun, safe environment. Big news from Pier 400! At APM Terminals Pier 400 Los Angeles, safety and sustainability aren’t slogans — they’re built into every move we make. We’re proud to share that Pier 400 has achieved dual certification in ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), becoming one of the few U.S. terminals to meet both global standards. This milestone represents six years of disciplined, LEAN-driven execution — from shore power delivery to safe crane operations — all focused on reducing risk, eliminating delays, and operating more efficiently for our customers. “For customers, the outcomes of our efforts result in fewer delays, safer moves, and higher performance,” says Managing Director Jon Poelma. We're proud to support APM Terminals on their electrification initiative, converting hybrid automated straddle carriers to electric at one of the world's busiest container terminals, Pier 400 Los Angeles. 🔋 The impact: Each electric carrier reduces CO2 emissions by 125 tons annually, supporting APM's net zero by 2030 goal while creating zero tailpipe emissions and cleaner air for workers and neighboring communities.
