About us

Arc is a venture-backed startup electrifying the marine industry, and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Led by a team of former rocket engineers, we’re developing, manufacturing and delivering high-performance electric boats at lightning speed. The Arc One laid the foundation. The Arc Sport took it mainstream. Now, we’re scaling the movement across new segments until everything that floats is electric.

“The boat market was far behind; outdated technology, poor user experience. That’s what really spoke to both of us: we should go electric and rewrite this industry,” — Arc CTO and Co-Founder, Ryan Cook Ryan has always loved solving tough engineering challenges. From the machine shop in college to co-founding Arc, that curiosity has guided every decision on how to build better boats. At Arc, he leads a team focused on engineering and innovation. From the battery and drivetrain to smart software and thoughtful features like a retractable hardtop, every detail is designed for performance and a better customer experience. As Cook says, “Once people see what’s possible, they’re going to start expecting more from their boats.” Read more on Ryan’s vision for modern marine technology: https://lnkd.in/gqSB_5hr

The moment the hull and deck meet is one of boatbuilding’s most critical steps. Known as “mating,” this process transforms two massive composite structures into a single, unified vessel. We prepare the bond with a marine-grade adhesive that chemically joins the pieces, while mechanical fasteners lock the structure in place. The result is a hull-deck assembly built to handle the dynamic loads of high-speed runs and wakesurfing’s variable ballasted weight with quiet strength and endurance for years on the water. Precision at this stage is non-negotiable. It’s what ensures every Arc boat leaves our factory ready for peak performance.

Summer is in full swing, and our crew has been making the most of it. One of the perks we offer employees is the ability to book our fleet of boats after completing on-water captain training. It gives our trained captains the chance to take a boat out with friends and family and enjoy the same experience we deliver to our customers. That has meant a summer of great surf sessions, sunset cruises, and plenty of stoke. It’s a way for our team to connect with the product they build and share the joy of boating with the people they care about most.

We build electric boats, but we’re powered by people. This month, our crew took a break for our annual summer BBQ. It was a day to celebrate the people behind the work, including their families, and the momentum we’re building both on and off the water. The factory was open for tours, a boat was on-site to climb aboard, and the rest of the day was filled with good food, live music, and a rare chance to target our co-founders in the dunk tank. Big thanks to everyone who made it such an unforgettable day. And to our crew — thank you for showing up every day to make it all possible.

The Arc Coast is our fresh take on a classic category, redesigned from the ground up. Center consoles haven’t changed much in over 60 years, and we saw an opportunity to move the whole segment forward, with smarter space, modern technology, and cleaner design. Built on the same powerful electric platform as the Arc Sport, the Coast features an integrated helm, a full swim deck, and a quiet, refined form designed around real usability. Here’s a look at how we rethought every detail: https://lnkd.in/gPKk5C7c

They say 'don’t judge a book by its cover,' but in our case, we think you should. Gelcoat is the first step of every hull build. It seals, protects, and sets the tone for everything that follows. Our clean, broad gelcoat surface isn’t just for looks; it’s a reflection of the craftsmanship underneath. While others use busy designs to hide imperfections, we let the quality speak for itself. By doing this step in-house, we hold a high bar from the very beginning, setting the foundation for a more thoughtful customer experience that starts long before someone ever steps on board.

Arc’s innovation starts with our crew. Coming from aerospace, automotive, marine, and beyond helps us reimagine life on the water. As Dennis Ellis puts it, “This place is a unicorn.” Dennis would know. Before joining Arc as an electromechanical technician, he spent decades in traditional auto service, then developed propulsion systems for an early EV manufacturer. At every step, he says, old-fashioned thinking limited creativity. “I’ve experienced a lot of, ‘This is how we’ve always done it,’” he laughs. “But not here!” He credits all the unique backgrounds on our factory floor. Take his own. Dennis grew up in San Fernando’s street racing scene. “I was a Fast and Furious guy,” he grins. He remembers people from the movies hanging around their races for research. Those backstreets, where he worked in friends’ pit crews, are where he first got into messing with engines. He’s been “wrenching” ever since. He outlasted the scene: “That old LA car culture is pretty much gone.” At Arc, Dennis helps lead battery production, which he’s excited to scale. Looking ahead to the Arc Coast and tugboats for the Port of Los Angeles, he says, “Bring it on.” Want to help us build? The crew is growing: arcboats.com/careers

There’s something about seeing a hull come out of the mold that never gets old. This one’s finished in Sage, our newest colorway, inspired by the muted greens and sun-faded terrain of California. Subtle, clean, and built with intention. It’s more than a manufacturing milestone. It’s a quiet shift from concept to craft and a window into our ethos: electric power, intentional design, and a lifestyle built around simplicity, not compromise. Every Arc hull is made right here in Los Angeles by a team that cares about the details, start to finish.
