Understanding climate change requires observing the Earth from above – and those satellites need propulsion. 🌍🛰️ We deliver the #SpaceQualified propulsion systems needed to power these missions. Developed at our Lampoldshausen and Bremen sites, these systems include tanks, thrusters, valves and fluidic equipment. Just three examples: 🔹 Biomass (ESA) is studying forest structure and the global carbon cycle, flying with a tank built in Bremen, Germany. 🔹 Harmony (ESA, 2029) will analyse the interactions between the Earth's surface and its atmosphere. It will be equipped with a full propulsion system designed by our #RocketMakers. 🔹 CIMR (ESA) will map sea ice, salinity, and sea surface temperature in order to improve our understanding of the Arctic and global climate systems. 🎯 We tailor our solutions to the needs of each mission. Our propulsion expertise spans all technologies: solid, liquid, electric and hybrid. To ensure the highest possible quality, reliability and performance of our spacecraft #Propulsion systems and thrusters, we design, develop and produce our own valves for control of propellants and pressurants. Our services cover everything from early design to launch campaign support, including propellant loading and ground equipment engineering, for ArianeGroup missions and external customers alike. Whether for Earth observation, scientific exploration or defence, we design propulsion that performs and contributes to the missions that matter most. 🚀 #SpaceIndustry #SatelliteTechnology #WorkInSpace

Did you catch it? During the last #Ariane6 launch broadcast, the commentator confirmed: “APU nominal.” Just two words, but they make us proud! Because the Auxiliary Propulsion Unit (APU) is one of the innovations on Ariane 6’s upper stage. This small multipurpose system has a significant impact, making Europe’s launcher more versatile and efficient than ever before. Its functions include: 🔹 Pressurising the tanks for reliable Vinci® engine re-ignition – up to four times 🔹 Settling propellants in microgravity with small bursts of thrust 🔹 Supporting payload separation, including satellite clusters and constellation deployments 🔹 Providing fine orbital maneuvers and additional thrust on demand 🔹 Safely de-orbiting the stage at mission’s end The APU uses a 3D-printed gas generator with advanced heat exchangers to vaporize small amounts of liquid oxygen and hydrogen and re-injects them into the tanks for the pressurisation. The result? Less helium tanks, lower mass, higher efficiency, and more mission flexibility. We build the APU’s gas generator using #3Dprinting. This allows us to reduce costs, create complex shapes in order to offer the best performances, and shorten production time – a process that enhances both our economic and technical performance. We #RocketMakers are proud to develop this unique system for European Space Agency - ESA together with our European partners, securing Europe’s independent access to space. #Innovation #SpaceIndustry #WorkInSpace

It was a pleasure to host Soumya Gupta, Consul General of India in Hamburg, at our ArianeGroup site in Bremen. 🙋 Together with the delegation of the Consulate General of India, Hamburg and Alexander V., Specialist International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation of the Free City of Bremen, she was welcomed by Siljan Schröder, Representative Head of Sites Germany and Bremen. The visitors received a presentation of the site and toured our #Ariane6 upper stage integration facility. 🔹 In our Ariane 6 upper stage production hall, Consul Gupta saw our cycle production approach, inspired by automotive assembly lines, designed for maximum efficiency. ArianeGroup has strong ties to Indian space endeavours, with decades of cooperation and ongoing projects: 🔹 New partnerships with innovative Indian start-ups continue to expand this cooperation, such as in #SpaceSituationalAwareness with Digantara. 🔹 Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has long relied on ARIANESPACE launch services. Thank you for the visit and the inspiring exchange! We are proud to contribute to the strong and growing ties between Europe and India in the #SpaceIndustry. 🚀 #RocketMakers #WorkInSpace #SpaceCooperation Senatorin für Wirtschaft, Häfen und Transformation

Hydrogen, Oxygen and a spark - that’s what it takes for the Vulcain® 2.1 to roar to life and power #Ariane6 into space. 🚀 Burning liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen (LOX/LH₂) in a cryogenic cycle, the engine provides the main stage thrust for the first eight minutes of flight, carrying Ariane 6 to an altitude of around 275 km. Starting its journey in Ottobrunn, Germany, with the production of the thrust Chamber, the engine is built by our #RocketMakers Vulcain® 2.1 across multiple sites in Germany and France. Each site contributes precision engineering, advanced manufacturing and decades of European propulsion expertise, working together to create a cutting-edge solution. An evolution of the Vulcain 2 used on Ariane 5, it now features: 🔹 #3D-printed gas generator 🔹 Simplified divergent nozzle 🔹 Bench electrically-operated hot gas valve 🔹 New high-tech assembly line for streamlined production On Ariane 6, Vulcain ignition happens on the launchpad, not inside the engine, using burners beneath the core stage. This saves weight, costs and frees up more space for payloads. We are proud to develop the Vulcain® 2.1 for European Space Agency - ESA and in close cooperation with our European partners to ensuring Europe’s reliable and independent access to space. #SpaceIndustry #WorkInSpace

I am thrilled to announce the third consecutive success of Ariane 6. Following its first commercial launch earlier this year, Europe's heavy launcher has once again demonstrated its performance and reliability. The Metop-SGA1 mission underscores our commitment to Europe's ambition to combat climate change, for the benefit of life on Earth. This launch also reinforces Ariane 6 as a strategic, sovereign asset for Europe in a critical geopolitical context. To all the teams, from @ArianeGroup and our partners, who dedicated their talent and energy to this adventure: bravo! This success is a testament to your hard work and commitment. And the journey continues. The next launchers are well advanced in production at ArianeGroup. Everyone here is fully mobilized to deliver the ramp-up expected by our customers. #Space #Europe #Sovereignty #Innovation #RocketMakers #VA264
