We’re back in Northwest Arkansas today for the grand opening of Keytronic’s flagship manufacturing facility! This facility will create 400 new jobs in Springdale - a major win for the city and the region. We joined Keytronic and Springdale leadership for the announcement of the facility back in February and six months later, we’re here at the grand opening. We are excited for Keytronic to get started manufacturing and creating jobs here in Springdale. Thanks to Brett Larsen, Nick Fasciana, and the Keytronic leadership for choosing Arkansas to grow. Congratulations to the leadership in Springdale, from Mayor Doug Sprouse to the city council to Bill Rogers and Jay Sego at the Springdale Chamber of Commerce, for supporting business growth. Shoutout to Raven Johnson, who led the effort as the Project Manager on our team. This week, AEDCE invited me to take part in the state of the state breakfast at the 2025 AEDCE Conference in Rogers. Clint O'Neal, CEcD and I had a good conversation about what’s going on in our state – from jobs creating projects to power generation to new economic development legislation. There are great things happening in Arkansas, and it was exciting to join economic developers from around the state to share some of these things. Thanks to AEDCE and their leadership for inviting me to speak at the conference.

This morning at AEDCE, I had the opportunity to interview Sec. Hugh McDonald as part of a fireside chat, discussing the state’s momentum, the IMPACT legislation, and much more. After that, it was an honor to share the stage with two leaders who I have a lot of respect for - Subash Alias, CEO of the Missouri Partnership and Bill Cork, Executive Director of the Mississippi Development Authority. Thanks to Jack Thomas for facilitating a panel discussion about economic development in our states and each state’s competitive advantages. Thanks to Sec. McDonald, Subash, and Bill for participating in the talks – they all provided great insights that will be valuable to Arkansas economic developers. Thank you to Candice Lawrence, the AEDCE Board of Directors, the AEDCE planning committee, and all who worked toward hosting a great conference. Hugh McDonald | G. Arkansas is fortunate to have so many great economic developers working to make a positive impact on our state. Across the state, we have talented professionals who are helping to create new economic opportunities and improve their communities. At the 2025 AEDCE Conference, we had the opportunity to honor several economic developers who have distinguished themselves and gone above and beyond for their communities and for the state. This year’s honorees include Darryl Treat, Gary Troutman, CCE, IOM, Danny Games, and Raymond Burns , CCE. All of the award recipients have made significant contributions to our state and are deserving of their honors. Congratulations to Darryl, Gary, Danny and Raymond!
