Congratulations to Fayette County, GA on a successful AMI project closeout event! Fayette County Water System's extensive infrastructure replacement initiative involved upgrading all water meters across 199 square miles with #BlueEdge solutions from Badger Meter. The new #CellularAMI system will help utility staff to react quickly with real-time water-usage monitoring to identify leaks, detect malfunctioning equipment and view back-flow alerts through BEACON® software. Arcadis and Pedal Valves were excellent partners on this project as well!

For Augusta Water, high-resolution flow data has increased consumer confidence and trust. Reliable meter reads, delivered via the robust cellular network, provide utility staff with water consumption data at 1- or 0.1-gallon resolution, compared to the 1,000-gallon resolution of the past. "The most common customer question everybody in customer service gets is 'Why is my bill so high?' And when I only had a read from today and two months ago, I could only make general observations about what might have caused [a high bill],” said Casey McCracken, Director of Information Technology with Augusta Water. “Now, I can actually look at some data trends to suggest an answer, which builds a lot of confidence and trust with our customers." Proud to be mentioned alongside Anglian Water Services Water in this piece about thoughtful mains monitoring in the UK.
💧 Anglian Water Services is leading the way in using smart technology to improve network performance and reduce environmental impact. Since 2017, it has deployed PIPEMINDER-ONE pressure sensors from Badger Meter to detect early signs of bursts in rising mains. These real-time alerts have enabled faster response times, reduced site visits, and improved asset management, saving the company over £30,000 annually and addressing more than 50 system performance issues. With expanded pressure monitoring and new funding support, Anglian Water is scaling this data-driven approach even further, enhancing pollution prevention efforts and reinforcing its commitment to environmental protection.
