  • Our Owner and Lead Movement Ninja was adamant about putting a balance move in our Ninja Mobility warm up. Here’s why ⬇️

🦩 What does single-leg balance have to do with safety? More than you think! This simple “Flamingo” move builds: ✅ Hip mobility ✅ Balance and control on uneven surfaces ✅ Fall prevention agility ✅ Confidence in awkward positions If your stretch & flex routine hasn’t changed in 10 years… it’s time. Static stretches don’t prepare workers for real-world movement. Dynamic routines like this one do—and they take less than 5 minutes. Want your crews better prepared for the day’s physical demands? Let’s talk about what it means to train for the job, not just check a box. #InjuryPrevention #StretchAndFlexUpgrade #NinjaMobility #BalanceBiomechanics #MakeWorkSuckLess

  • What a backdrop for our hat! 🏝️ Great reminder from Russell to make sure you fill out your session evaluations from #Safety2025. If you attended either of Lori‘s sessions at the conference, please take a moment to provide feedback and even suggestions for future presentations. Thank you!

  • Earlier this week, our Owner Lori Frederic 🥷 attended the Vantage Data Centers Safety Summit in Columbus, OH. The elevation of construction safety is happening!

Just attended the Vantage Data Centers first annual Safety Summit—and left inspired. I was energized by the clear commitment to safety on display. This wasn’t your average safety conference—it was a powerful gathering of industry executives, not just safety managers, walking the talk and setting the tone from the top specifically for data center construction. The message was loud and clear: Elevated safety culture is no longer optional—it’s expected. And it starts with leadership. At Balance Biomechanics our mission is to bring personal responsibility, body care, and real tools for injury prevention to the field—especially for those who may not think they need or deserve to care for their bodies for the long run. Even though we currently partner with Rowan Digital Infrastructure, one of Vantage’s competitors, this was clearly meant to be a group effort. It was great to see top-tier executives from the same GCs and subcontractors engaged and championing this kind of message. It reinforces that Balance Biomechanics is on the right path. The future of construction safety is personal. It’s a priority. And it’s already in motion. It’s a Movement. 🥷🤟 #ConstructionSafety #InjuryPrevention #BalanceBiomechanics #SafetyLeadership #BlueCollarNinja #MakeWorkSuckLess Mark Mckeon Candice Ross, CHST, LEED Green Associate Scott DeBow, CSP / ARM Kate Sarno David F. • Hard work happens on construction sites. Early mornings, elements of nature, and long commutes/traveling workers. This physical work deserves physical resources. 🔹Dynamic warm ups 🔹Onsite soft tissue triage 🔹Movement Coaches Not every worker thinks they need it or deserve it, but it’s time to elevate expectations of body care and maintenance in the physical world of construction 🥷💪🫶🏻 #Makeworksuckless #injuryprevetion #stretchandflex #upgrade #ninjamobility #construction #bluecollar

  • Sometimes the solution is simple and cost effective. Do you have a vertical mouse?

If you’re stuck at a desk for most of your work (seated or standing), here’s my #1 Tip protect yourself from wrist and elbow pain (even neck and shoulder pain): Get a VERTICAL MOUSE. I don’t focus on equipment too often but when I do, it will be something that makes a measurable impact no matter what your body type or desk set up. The vertical mouse is a simple and cost effective upgrade to your workstation that provides so much bang for your buck. Rotating your forearm towards supination (palm up) is closer to our anatomical position. A traditional mouse puts your hand and wrist in pronation (palm down) which often leads to more internal rotation up the chain into the elbow and the shoulder. This can lead to discomfort anywhere in the upper limb and decrease circulation. It takes a little while for the fine motor skills to get used to the new position, but it’s a huge win in the long run. Do you have a vertical mouse? Which one? What do you think of it?

  • Squats are the first move in our Ninja Mobility routine for good reason…4 good reasons actually 🤟

View profile for Lori Frederic 🥷

Movement Ninja, Saving blue collar workers from injury & pain. CSCS, CMT

Why Squats? Build Muscle, Burn More Calories: 🍑 When you do more squats, you build more muscle mass. 🔥 When you build more muscle mass, you raise your metabolism. 🌮 When you have a higher metabolism, you can eat more tacos! Building more muscle increases metabolism, allowing for better energy use throughout the day. Strengthen Your Heart: Your legs and hips contain large muscle groups, and engaging them through squats forces your heart to work harder, pumping more blood over greater distances. Over time, this strengthens your cardiovascular system. Prevent Severe Injury from Falls: Squatting is not just about getting stronger — it’s about control. The ability to squat and control your descent to the ground can reduce the severity of injuries during falls. Instead of landing hard, you can crumple closer to the ground, reducing the risk of hip, wrist, or head injuries. Dynamic Movement Preparation: Squats mimic the types of movements performed on the job, like lifting, twisting, and bending, which reduces stiffness and prepares the body for work. Squat Challenge > Do 10 squats at least 3 times today. Start your week off right. #injuryprevention #workwarmup #makeworksuckless #stretchandflex #mobility #bluecollarninja

Small Adjustments, Big Impact 🤟 The Power of Posture in Injury Prevention The majority of soft tissue injuries on the job don’t just happen from one bad lift or a sudden movement—they build up over time due to habits, fatigue, and poor mechanics. Take a look at these two photos. The first image (before) shows a common issue: a tall worker slouching to “fit” their space, rounding their upper back and collapsing their posture. Over time, this leads to neck strain, grumpy shoulders, and even lower back aches - key contributors to soft tissue injuries. Now, look at the second image (after). No fancy equipment, no long-winded training. Just a simple cue to sit up tall, tuck the chin back, and engage the upper back. The result? Reduced strain, better breathing, and a stronger foundation for movement throughout the shift. This is what real injury prevention looks like—simple, real-time coaching that creates long-term change. Training workers to recognize and correct these habits themselves can make a massive difference in reducing fatigue and injury risk. AKA Personal Responsibility Soft tissue injury prevention isn’t just about stretch-and-flex routines—it’s about awareness, small adjustments, and taking ownership of how we move every day. What’s one movement habit you see on job sites that could be improved with simple coaching? Let’s talk. #InjuryPrevention #PostureMatters #BlueCollarNinja #makeworksuckless
