Bend. Don’t break. Whole family mental health care.

About us

Bend Health, Inc. is a national provider of pediatric mental health for kids, teens, young adults, and their families. We believe whole family mental health starts with a strong foundation of resilience to cope with whatever life blows your way. Our peer-reviewed results demonstrate that more than 80% of members enrolled in Bend feel better within 60 to 90 days. We are revolutionizing the treatment of mental health conditions for kids and teens through a novel data-driven technology platform and evidence-based collaborative care model that enables the first scalable and integrated care solution in mental health. Through coaching, therapy and reduced time to evaluation and treatment by licensed pediatric psychiatry experts, our approach achieves better outcomes and results in happier, healthier kids and teens, while ensuring stigma, cost, and logistics are no longer barriers to care. Our founding team has been in both technology and healthcare for nearly twenty years, as individual contributors, and executives, in both private practices and at companies including Oracle, Optum, UnitedHealth Group and Teladoc Health.

  • ☀️Meet Va-Lita Morris, LMHC☀️ Bend Therapist Va-Lita Morris is a licensed therapist who has over 19 years of serving and advocating for children and families. Early in her career, she worked as a child welfare case manager in Florida where she supported families facing abuse, trauma, and neglect. During that time, she became aware of how important it was for individuals to seek professional services and support to deal with life's challenging and difficult situations. Va-Lita decided to become a therapist after seeing the importance of Black and Brown communities and families having access to relatable mental health providers. Her favorite part of working with Bend is collaborative with members in a supportive work environment. Outside of work, Va-Lita enjoys: 🏕️ Looking for new adventures! 💗 Spending time with her loved ones. 💤 Catching up on her rest! ✈️ Traveling to exciting destinations.

  • Caring for a child with mental health challenges can place significant strain on their parents and caregivers, negatively affecting sleep and stress. A new peer-reviewed study we published today shows just how deeply connected kids' mental health is to caregiver well-being. ➡️ When kids feel better, parents do too. After an average of two months of care through Bend Health’s collaborative model: ✅ 88% of caregivers reported sleeping better ✅ 83% felt less stressed ✅ And the more a child improved, the more their caregiver’s well-being improved too Caregivers are often the hidden part of the mental health equation—navigating exhaustion, burnout, and fear in silence. But when care includes the whole family, the ripple effects are powerful. “This is one more reason why a whole-family approach to mental health matters,” says Monika Roots, MD, FAPA. “You can’t support a child without supporting the adults who care for them.” 📖 Full study highlights: https://lnkd.in/eaJbXKwA #youthmentalhealth #familymentalhealth #caregiversupport #sleephealth #wholefamilycare #peerreviewedscience

  • Parenting in the summer can be anything but relaxing 👀 Check out Monika Roots, MD, FAPA reel on her top 5 “parent permission slips”—simple reminders you can share with the families you support (or keep in your own back pocket 😉) that summer doesn’t always have to be picture perfect.

Summer is supposed to feel easy, right? Light and relaxed! But if you’re a working parent or caregiver, it can actually be one of the hardest times of year for your mental health. No school. No structure. Nonstop logistics—and pressure to make it all feel magical. Lately I’ve been telling my kids: “I’m not a party planner!” They don’t need perfectly curated days and I’m not here just to keep them entertained. They need space to be bored. And I need space to breathe. It’s not just summer. We do the same with holidays and birthdays—build up big expectations, then feel even worse when reality doesn’t match. So here’s your reminder: - Let go of the pressure on yourself - Bring back carpools  - And please, give yourself some grace #mentalhealth #caregiverburnout #workingparents #summerstress #behavioralhealth #resilience
