The Governor submits the Governor's Budget to the Legislature in January, it is revised in May, and the fiscal year begins July 1. This summer, our Student Assistants have been getting a firsthand look at what it’s like to work in state government. In June, they toured the State Capitol, exploring both the Assembly and Senate floors, and learned more about Finance’s role in the budget process. Then in July, they got a behind-the-scenes tour of the Nimbus Fish Hatchery where the group spent time learning about the vital role it plays in California’s ecosystem and water management. This summer has provided our interns with many opportunities to learn and make meaningful connections, and there’s still more to look forward to! Check back in soon to see what they do next!
