With the new school year beginning, we're excited to continue to support programs that help students explore how their environment, choices and access to resources shape their health. At Junior Achievement of Greater Washington's Finance Park In Prince George's County, the CareFirst storefront gives students the chance to explore how income, housing, food access and healthcare choices impact their well-being. More than 9,000 middle schoolers are expected to take part this school year. In D.C., more than 200 second graders received bikes and safety gear through the Graduation on Wheels event earlier this summer, along with entry to DC Bike Ride on September 6. The ride offers a great way for students to put movement into action and enjoy the city-wide celebration with their families. These efforts focus on early support that sets youth up for long-term wellness—giving them the chance to move, learn and feel connected in the places they live and grow. We were proud to team up with the Baltimore Orioles for Literacy night—bringing fans and community partners together to support education and expand opportunities for Baltimore students. Baseball Hall of Famer, Cal Ripken Jr., joined the celebration, spending time with students and reading together, as fans throughout the stadium donated books for Baltimore City schools. The books collected at the game were distributed across five schools, providing students with new resources for their classrooms and libraries. Keeping the play alive, we made a donation to Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School to purchase new smart tablets—giving students access to essential digital tools that strengthen learning and encourage healthier futures. With our #DifferenceMakers, the Orioles, Cal Ripken Jr., fans, families and community partners in the lineup, we're creating a lasting, meaningful impact for Baltimore students. #CareFirstCares

At the 2025 MACo Summer Conference, state and local leaders gathered to discuss issues shaping Maryland's future. We joined the conversation to highlight how health is central to that future—exploring challenges and opportunities communities face across the state. These insights strengthen our work to advance accessible care that meets people where they are and reflects the needs of the communities we serve. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and attended our sessions. #CareFirstCares
