Our Cavender Auto Family team came together to build 700 snack packs and deliver them to 7 schools in San Antonio ISD. In partnership with Communities in Schools, these snacks will support students facing food insecurity. We are Making Kindness Happen! Cavender Auto Family is proud to support the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas in their efforts to aid those affected by the devastating floods in the Texas Hill Country. Our team members from across Texas and Oklahoma have come together to donate $55,385, and Cavender Auto Family is matching that amount—bringing the total contribution to $111,591. We recognize that rebuilding this community will take years, and the emotional toll is beyond measure. It’s our hope that this donation brings some comfort and support through the important work of these two nonprofit organizations.

Cavender Auto Family is a proud supporter of Guardian House by participating in their 2025 Backpack Drive with a donation of 100 backpacks to be distributed to children in neighboring elementary and middle schools. Founded in 1997, Guardian House is committed in helping children and parents in high-conflict divorce situations redefine and restructure their families during this unstable transition period. Last year, Cavender Auto Family also worked alongside The Rotary Club of San Antonio and their Kingdom for Kids project building a playground for Guardian House in their new location. We are thrilled to announce that two recipients from Cavender Auto Family have been selected to receive the 2025 San Antonio Auto Dealers Scholarship of $1,500. In addition, each of these deserving recipients have been presented with a matching scholarship check of $1,500 from Cavender Auto Family. Sophie Vadachkoria, daughter of David Vadachkoria, Toyota Sales, attends UTSA majoring in Construction Science and Management. She has been on the UTSA Presidential list four times, the Dean’s List three times and is an Honors College member. Outside of school, Sophie has successfully completed management of two multifamily construction projects ranging from $45-$68 million. Sophie is a repeat recipient, having also received the 2024 SADA scholarship. Mercedes Laboy, daughter of Daniel Pena, IT, will be attending Columbia College in Chicago majoring in Musical Theatre. Mercedes was a Cum Laude graduate of Communications Art High School where she was the Historian for all four years, also achieving National Thespian and Thespian Scholar recognition, as well as the Dean’s Scholarship. This summer, Mercedes will be attending the Open Jar Institute in New York City, which is New York’s premier Broadway acting training program. 75+ team members from Cavender Auto Family, Cavender Toyota and Cavender Audi Dominion joined together with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build 65 beds for children in our community that have no bed of their own. Thanks to our Cavender Auto Family volunteers for hosting our 10th annual Pizza Party for families at Haven for Hope. It's clear that the children and families enjoy time together that included balloon art and face painting by Daisy Bee & Friends as well as great bounce houses from 806 Events. Cavender Auto Family is proud to support Jr Achievement of South Texas by sponsoring their All About Cars program and volunteering with their Finance Park program. All About Cars is a Cavender produced video that leads young people through the thought process for selecting and acquiring a car. Finance Park brings students from schools across the area to supplement their classroom studies around budgeting and understanding the daily financial decisions they have to look forward to as adults. Our volunteers recently spent a day with students from both Bandera Middle School and Rawlinson Middle School leading them through all 23 categories of financial responsibility. Some of the comments received by students at the end of the session include: "The meaningful things I learned today was how to budget, I think I learned this very well because I had a great volunteer - Mr. Cavender!!" "The most meaningful thing I have learned today was how to take care of me and my family also learning what are wants and what are needs." "I learned that you have to pay for weird things like your trash, sewer and cable, all of which adds up to a lot of money to pay."
