As summer winds down, we’re getting ready to head into a new school year! 📚✏️ Our Bronx preventive and Family Assessment Program teams joined ACS Commissioner Jess Dannhauser and community partners for a special back-to-school event in the Bronx. This event brought families together with fun activities, school supplies, and resources to help kids start the year off strong. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Children’s Aid table—we’re proud to have supported this initiative and our youth and families across NYC. #ChildrensAidNYC #EveryStepOfTheWay #BackToSchool #BronxFamilies

Cash Cobain returned to his roots at M.S. 301 Paul L. Dunbar—now a Children’s Aid community school in the Bronx—where he once walked the halls as a student. Drawn early on to the school’s music programs, he began laying the foundation for a career that has made him a chart-topping artist, songwriter, and record producer. Known for pioneering “sample drill,” Cash Cobain has reshaped the sound of drill music by blending Bronx beats with melodic, upbeat elements—reflecting his upbringing and aiming to move the genre away from its association with violence. As part of DYCD’s Artist Stage 2025 series, Cash reunited with his former dean, Principal Hesham Farid, along with former teachers & staff, and urged students to pursue their passions, do what they love, and stay committed to their dreams. Hosted by Miabelle of Hot 97, the conversation highlighted how passion and persistence can open doors. With his family in attendance, it was a powerful full-circle moment for the community. Special thanks to DYCD and Commissioner Keith S. Howard, Dara Bragg of Success in the Arts, Principal Hesham Farid of M.S. 301 Paul L. Dunbar Middle School, DJ G Money, and of course Cash Cobain for inspiring the next generation of Bronx talent. #ChildrensAidNYC #DYCD #ArtistStage2025 #ArtistStage #NYCYouth #BronxStrong

Thank you to all our friends at Accenture’s Corporate Citizenship team for helping bring first-day-of-school magic to children in our communities across NYC! Your generosity and partnership make such a difference for our children, families, and schools.
The first day of school is magic—especially when you have your very own backpack. Accenture’s Corporate Citizenship team partnered with Children's Aid to make that moment possible for kids across NYC. Children’s Aid supports more than 50,000 children, youth, and families each year with education, health care, and family services so that a child’s first day of school isn’t just a date on the calendar, but a fresh start filled with confidence, excitement, and hope. We first hosted a school supply donation drive that brought together more than 30 generous donors, fulfilling the teacher wish lists of backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and other classroom essentials. The school supply donation drive culminated in an in-office packing event where, in just two hours, 24 Accenture volunteers packed backpacks for 150 children and filled 19 boxes with classroom supplies for students and teachers. These donations reached students in some of New York’s highest-need neighborhoods—places where 1 in 4 children are born into poverty, 1 in 3 students are chronically absent, and 1 in 7 experience homelessness before finishing elementary school. We are honored and proud to bring that first day of school magic to the kids of Children’s Aid. Thank you, Nicole Briedis, MPA, Taylor G., and the rest of the Children’s Aid team for helping us make the event a huge success! #ChildrensAidNYC #BackToSchool #CorporateCitizenship #CommunityImpact #Volunteering

Summer may be wrapping up, but our SYEP HQ interns are leaving a lasting impression at Children’s Aid! This year’s Career Development Internship brought talented NYC teens into departments across our organization—from Executive Leadership to IT, HR, Marketing & Communications, Early Childhood, Youth Division Operations, and Fiscal. They brought fresh ideas, sharp skills, and a willingness to learn that inspired everyone they worked with. A highlight of the summer? Our SYEP interns Carlos Perez and Katelyn Page spearheaded the creation of our very first HQ-based historical exhibition: “A Century of Care: Children’s Aid in the 1900s.” Featuring archival photos, artifacts, and stories from our past, this exhibit connects our mission today with over a century of service to NYC children and families. The exhibition and wrap-up celebration brought together our interns, mentors, and leaders—including Angela Sharpe, LMSW, SIFI, Director of Youth Programs and Partnerships; Vanessa Lecorps, Vice President of Engagement and Belonging; and Sarah Jonas, Vice President of the Youth Division—who were instrumental in making this program and event such a success. Thank you to our interns for your talent, passion, and drive—you’ve helped make this a summer of learning and inspiration at Children’s Aid. And thank you to the staff across departments for guiding and inspiring them #EveryStepOfTheWay #ChildrensAidNYC #SYEP2025 #FutureLeaders #InternshipExperience #YouthDevelopment
