The Community High School District 94 Board of Education is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Limaris Pueyo as the next Principal of West Chicago Community High School (WCCHS), effective July 1, 2025 to start the 2025-2026 school year. Dr. Pueyo brings nearly two decades of experience in public education, with a strong record of instructional leadership, equity advocacy, and a deep commitment to multilingual learners. Currently serving as the Director of Multilingual Learners & Equity for Community Unit School District 200 (Wheaton Warrenville), she has led efforts to improve curriculum access and instructional quality for all students. Her work has focused on ensuring equity in educational programs, guiding strategic curriculum adoption, and supporting professional development in culturally responsive teaching and data-informed instruction. “We are beyond excited to welcome Dr. Pueyo as our new principal. Her credentials and experiences as an educational leader align with the needs of our district and I believe she will have a positive impact on the entire WeGo Community. " said Superintendent Dr. Kurt Johansen. Before her role in District 200, Dr. Pueyo served in Glenbard Township High School District 87 as Dean of Students, English Learner (EL) Coordinator, and Title I Coordinator. There, she led crisis response efforts, student intervention teams, and equity initiatives while supporting EL program compliance and instructional coaching. Her early career includes extensive classroom and department leadership experience in Chicago-area schools, where she taught Social Studies. A first-generation college graduate and bilingual educator fluent in Spanish, Dr. Pueyo earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from National Louis University. She also holds a Master's in Educational Administration and a Bachelor's in History and Secondary Education, along with multiple certifications, including Superintendent, ESL, and Social Science endorsements. Dr. Pueyo is also proud to be a member of the greater West Chicago community, where she resides with her family. Her personal and professional investment in the community reflects her deep commitment to building strong relationships and supporting student success both inside and outside the classroom. “I am honored and excited to serve as the next principal of West Chicago Community High School. I look forward to partnering with students, staff, families, and the school community. Together, we will build on the school’s proud traditions and continue creating opportunities for all learners to grow, succeed, and thrive in school and beyond.” said Dr. Pueyo. Dr. Pueyo's appointment follows a comprehensive search process, and her selection reflects a shared vision for high expectations, equity, and innovation in education. She succeeds Dr. Will Dwyer, whose leadership and contributions are greatly appreciated.
