We are thrilled to welcome a cohort of interns to the City this summer in our new partnership with the Youth Career Connect program! Youth Career Connect is an exciting program that brings together Central Oregon high schools, local businesses, Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council, and East Cascades Works to empower young individuals to kickstart their career, while enabling local employers to train and build our future workforce. Youth Career Connect connects teenagers and young adults between the ages of 15 and 21 to exciting local internships, offering valuable work experiences. Interns will engage in hands-on learning as they explore the City’s water infrastructure, examine building safety and code compliance, observe street maintenance processes, and contribute to community-focused communications initiatives. We are excited to learn from them too! 😃
