A driving passion to feed the world

About us

Convoy of Hope is a faith-based, nonprofit organization with a driving passion to feed the world through children’s feeding initiatives, community outreaches and disaster response. As a faith-based, international, humanitarian-relief organization strategically based in Springfield, Missouri — the crossroads of America — our goal is to bring help and hope to those who are impoverished, hungry and hurting. Convoy of Hope was founded in 1994 by the Donaldson family. Their inspiration for starting the organization can be traced back to the many people who helped their family after their father, Harold, was killed by a drunk driver in 1969. Today, more than 70 million people have been served throughout the world by Convoy of Hope. We are proud that we work through churches, businesses, government agencies and other nonprofits to provide help and hope to those who are impoverished, hungry and hurting.

  • Micheline lives in Haiti, where over 3 million kids are in need of humanitarian intervention. Every day, families are surrounded by gang violence and dysfunction. But Micheline knows that she will receive a meal every school day from Convoy's Children's Feeding program — which motivates her to chase her dreams. 🥣 Through a partnership with Mission of Hope, Convoy of Hope is currently providing over 125,000 meals each day in Haiti, and Micheline's program center has become a safe place for the children to just be kids. A hot meal is more than nourishment — it's hope for the future. #haiti #childrensfeeding #convoyofhope

  • Behind every bag of groceries we give is a child — and a family — who no longer has to worry about their next meal. This summer, Convoy's Children’s Summer Feeding initiative is committed to providing 150,000 bags of groceries to children and families across the United States. For some of these families, recovering from a disaster like Hurricane Helene has been a long and exhausting process as they work toward returning to any sense of normalcy. For others, finances, food insecurity, and other life circumstances constantly weigh on their shoulders — making it difficult to dream for the future. Together, with the help of incredible partners, Convoy is able to help provide bags of groceries to these families as they navigate the challenges of life. • Part 1: In a small village in the Philippines, Unie and her family struggled to make a steady income as fishermen. But when Convoy of Hope began working in her community, she saw an opportunity for change! 🧵💡 Sewing had always been a hobby of hers, but with training, a new machine, and a shift in mindset, she turned it into a thriving business — now, her whole family is involved and they're helping others learn the business, too. #womensempowerment #sewing #sustainability #leadership

  • More than 14 million people in Sudan have been forced to flee their homes since civil conflict broke out in April 2023 — today, it's become one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. Millions are living in displacement camps, trying to feed their families and keep their children and themselves alive. Two armed forces in conflict — and the country’s civilians in the crossfire, facing the dire consequences. Since 2023, Convoy of Hope has served over 5 million meals to people affected by the conflict. Convoy teams continue to deliver fortified rice and lentil meals to the most vulnerable. Most people who arrive at the camp are in poor health, having walked for days in hope of finding security and food. With sudden lack of funding, most of the emergency feeding kitchens in Sudan have closed. Convoy’s work there — feeding people in need, providing clean water and mosquito nets — has always been needed. But now it is vital. Visit  https://h.ope.is/3HcIjvW to learn more.

  • A best friend and a meal can make a huge difference in the life of a child! 🤗🥣 Teferi, age 9, faced uncertainty before joining Convoy of Hope's Children's Feeding program. His parents try their best to take care of the family, but they struggle to put meals on the table. "The uncertainty and lack of food made each day a battle, affecting me both physically and emotionally," Teferi said. But he hasn't gone through it alone — he has his best friend, Bini. When Teferi was hungry, Bini would bring food from home to share. "Bini is more than just a friend to me — he's like a brother," Teferi said. Now, Teferi and Bini attend the feeding program at their school, which helps Teferi to enjoy school, no longer burdened and able to focus on his studies. He and Bini like to combine their meals and eat together — their favorite is vegetables with bread — and sing in the same choir. Both of them have a brighter future with the security of food, and a safe place to learn and grow. Swipe to read more! 👉

Most children in your life probably don't have to worry about their next meal. That isn't so for Demissie, age 5. His father doesn't make enough to provide for the family, so meals aren't always guaranteed. It's a lot to carry for a young person. Convoy of Hope's Children's Feeding program in Ethiopia has helped to fill in the gaps for Demissie. He now enjoys full meals, with his favorite being injera and potato stew. "My body has changed from before, and I am very happy now," Demissie said. "Now, my father no longer has to worry about me ... I love my father the most." With hunger no longer a distraction, he can now savor school to the fullest. 🧡
