In an industry defined by change – shifting formats, evolving listener habits, digital transformation -- Rob Babin has become a fixed frequency on Radio Ink’s Top 40 Most Powerful People in Radio list. After five consecutive years on the list, this isn’t just a streak … it’s a statement. Since 2021, Rob (president of CMG Radio) and his team have stayed relevant by creating industry-leading content, generating revenue growth for clients, leading impactful community engagements, and fostering a culture of collaboration and strong execution. In the process, they’ve achieved rare consistency and constancy amidst the industry evolution. To be recognized once is an honor … to be named five times is about re-setting the standard for what influence and impact sounds like, behind the mic and beyond.

After doing something for 25 years, it can be hard to better your best. But that's exactly what happened during the 25th annual 95.5 WSB Care-a-Thon. In only 38 hours between July 24-25, the team set a record by raising $2.1M in support of the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Thanks to the generosity of WSB Radio listeners and the Atlanta community, the 95.5 WSB Care-a-Thon has raised more than $36 million since 2001. Donations are welcome year-round and can be made at wsbradio.com/careathon/. Go to CMG.com/News for more information.

Another week, another national award for CMG's Investigative Reporting team ... this one from the National Press Foundation. CMG and KFF Health News earned this national recognition for “Social Security’s Secret,” a news special showing how a dozen reporters from across all of CMG’s TV stations and KFF Health News worked together to expose the real-world impacts of the Social Security Administration's (SSA) overpayment clawbacks. It featured personal stories of more than three dozen people to highlight how burdensome the SSA’s clawbacks had become for thousands of benefit recipients. “Social Security’s Secret” aired in all of CMG’s TV markets and on its streaming platforms. https://lnkd.in/enArM9MW

CMG is set up for the future in an even stronger way with 2 important internal promotions this week. First, Darren Moore will be CMG's first SVP & Chief Sales Officer - CMG Television. Darren is a legacy team member - his dad worked for CMG in Pittsburgh (WPXI-TV) - and will be accountable for CMG's sales and revenue strategy across its TV business. That includes a focus on helping our advertisers expand their reach. Second, Omesh Somaru was promoted to VP/GM of CMG-TV Jacksonville and will lead WJAX-TV and WFOX-TV (a Hoffman Communications' station). Omesh will continue building on Jacksonville's strong momentum and ratings. Darren and Omesh are strong leaders with innovative business minds. As importantly, they're outstanding people who lead with optimism and conviction. Congrats to both for very well-earned promotions! #WeAreCMG https://www.cmg.com/news/

One covered world events and watched history unfold in front of his camera, and the other is a nationally renowned consumer advocate. Both CMG media icons were inducted into the Atlanta Press Club Hall of Fame this week. Tony Light, WSB-TV's Chief Photographer, has relentlessly pursued truth and authenticity through his photography. His ability to convey complex stories through compelling images has left a lasting impact on the field of photojournalism. Clark Howard, a member of the National Radio Hall of Fame, is a renowned consumer advocate and financial expert. His approachable, no-nonsense style quickly gained popularity and led to national syndication of "The Clark Howard Show." His national "The Clark Howard Podcast" is available on the 95.5 WSB Radio website at www.wsbradio.com. Congratulations to both of these distinguished journalists! #CMG #WeAreCmg

Our very own Rob Babin was just named the Vice Chair of the Radio Advertising Bureau. It makes sense. Rob leads with vision and empathy and there are dozens of examples of how he puts his people first. A true servant leader. We're happy he's representing Cox Media Group in this important role! #CoxMediaGroup #WeAreCMG
