  • After more than 60 years in the game, we figured it was time for a little refresh—nothing drastic, just a name that actually says what we’ve been doing all along (imagine that!). We’ve added “Logistics” to our brand to better reflect the full scope of what we handle—because let’s be honest, we’ve been living and breathing logistics since day one. This small update signals our continued commitment to delivering smarter, more strategic solutions for our partners—whether it’s port logistics, complex warehouse operations, value-added services, or CES. In other words: the same trusted team, just with a label that actually fits. It’s more than a name change—it’s a nod to our roots, a flex to the present, and a clear path to what’s next. #CustomGoodsLogistics #Logistics #BrandEvolution #Custom-goods #SupplyChainSolutions #WeDeliverClarity

  • Importers across industries are now asking: Do the August 2025 tariffs apply to my products? The answer is rarely simple. Major changes to U.S. trade policy are now in effect. On July 31, 2025, a new executive order was signed, implementing one of the most significant tariff shifts in decades. Replacing the previous flat 10% duty introduced in April, the new framework establishes country-specific “reciprocal tariffs” ranging from 10% to over 40%, along with a new 40% transshipment penalty. Applicability depends on several factors, including the product’s country of origin, its classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, the route it takes to reach the U.S., and whether any exceptions apply. Visit our website to read an article about what these changes mean and how they may impact your business https://lnkd.in/gvxBpyD3 #Tariffs #TradePolicy #ImportNews #SupplyChain

  • We had the opportunity to attend the Global Trade Educational Conference (G-TEC) in Oklahoma this July 2025, and it was an incredibly valuable experience. The event gathered over 400 trade professionals, educators, and government representatives to explore developments in global trade compliance, logistics, and policy. With over 30 sessions, panels, and hands-on workshops, we expanded our understanding of key topics and gained insights particularly relevant to CES operations, including: - How to handle abandoned and stranded cargo - The state of trade policy and its impact on CBP operations - Duty mitigation strategies and their effect on inspections (e.g., valuation) - Collaboration between lawyers, importers, and customs brokers to resolve C.F.R. issues - Intensified Customs Enforcement amid the current political and business climates - Customs compliance in the importation of goods into the U.S. The two-day event was well-organized and informative, providing practical strategies, real-world examples, and excellent networking opportunities. We’re returning with valuable tools to enhance our operations and better serve our clients. #GlobalTrade2025 #TradeCompliance #SupplyChainInsights #TradeEducation

  • At Custom Goods, we’re committed to continuous improvement across all areas of our operations. Recently, we identified an opportunity to improve our trailer management process. If damaged trailers are not consistently identified after unloading, it leads to the risk of them being reused without repair. This could potentially lead to delays, additional labor, and safety concerns. To solve this, we introduced a Red Tag System to clearly mark damaged trailers as out of service. This ensures they’re quickly flagged and pulled from circulation. We also streamlined communication between drivers, supervisors, dispatch, and maintenance. Damage is now reported immediately, triggering quick response. A designated yard area for out-of-service trailers prevents accidental reuse and keeps the yard organized. Supervisors conduct regular checks to ensure compliance. The result? Fewer delays, better coordination, and safer operations. With minimal training, this simple change has delivered long-term benefits—demonstrating our continued commitment to safety and efficiency. #SafetyFirst, #OperationalExcellence, #ContinuousImprovement, #SmartLogistics
