35% of CEOs estimate their AI initiatives amount to "AI washing," focused on optics and reputation while offering little real business value, according to our Global AI Confessions Report: CEO Edition. On the latest AI with Alec, Alec Coughlin and our Head of AI Strategy, Kurt Muehmel, dig into the growing reality of AI "agent washing" and what enterprise leaders need to do to move from experimentation to execution. They cover the importance of high-impact use cases, selecting the right architecture, and operationalizing agents within core systems. More in the conversation below. 👇 Discover more CEO Confessions in our report: https://lnkd.in/ebTVyNJr

Enterprise AI agents help us “focus on making the beer taste better” aka the 20%+ of efforts that drive 80%+ of the results. Kurt Muehmel, Head of AI Strategy at Dataiku, returned to AI with Alec for another AI deep dive. This time, the focus was enterprise AI agents and why they represent a fundamental shift in how work gets done. The thought provoking conversation moved through a number of critical success drivers for enterprise AI agents including the following:  1️⃣ Three-part definition of AI agents that cuts through agent washing hype 2️⃣ Why technology capabilities are racing ahead of enterprise adoption 3️⃣ The “AWS moment” for AI…are we approaching standardization of the abstraction layer between intelligent systems and human collaboration? 4️⃣ Implications of AI agents helping us “traverse the boundaries of traditional software” 5️⃣ Building the “hybrid human agent workforce” including the tooling and mindset shifts required 👇 Watch the preview below Link to the complete episode in the comments. Also in the comments, a link to “LLM Mesh”, a technical guide created through a collaboration between Dataiku + O'Reilly.

For Ted Ross (CIO of the City of Los Angeles), the job of CIO isn’t abstract. It’s about impact at the street level. His team helped launch ShakeAlertLA, an early warning app that gives Angelenos a few seconds to brace before an earthquake hits. It’s a clear example of what happens when tech, policy, and public trust come together. At Akamai, a small team of analysts is doing the kind of work you’d expect from data scientists. Akamai’s Director of Strategy & Operations, Kyle Mueller, and his team scaled their impact with Dataiku by automating manual tasks through AI agents, such as by building an agent that ingests financial and customer data into Dataiku to surface insights. They've also built ML models for staffing projects, fraud detection, forecasting, and operating plan generation, with one project saving two weeks of effort. Most importantly, Dataiku has helped them reduce time to production, getting models into use faster, all without a single data scientist on the team. The final chapter of the O'Reilly tech guide has just been released and it takes an LLM Mesh architecture from theory to practice! It brings an LLM Mesh to life with a practical walkthrough of building and maintaining an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Assistant as an agentic application for compliance. This capstone chapter ties together the lessons from earlier chapters and shows an LLM Mesh in action. For IT leaders, the takeaway is clear: Monolithic builds are brittle, while an LLM Mesh delivers speed, reliability, and governance by design. Read the final chapter now to see how an LLM Mesh powers agentic applications: https://bit.ly/4lHvszR #LLMMesh #AIAgents

Only 27% of execs today trust fully autonomous agents in the enterprise, down from 43% last year. Risk awareness is rising, but governance tooling needs to catch up. In the final post of his three-part series, BARC's Kevin Petrie lays out four key criteria to guide that process, covering governance capabilities, usability, ecosystem support, and scalability.
