At long last, excited to be able to share a bit about DFJ Growth's investment in Cellanome! We led the company's Series B and it's been an absolute blast teaming up again with Mostafa Ronaghi, Omead Ostadan, Jay Flatley, and so many others. This is the dream team who built Illumina and launched the age of genomics, and they are doing it again for cell biology. The last decade was driven by genomics, which enabled scientists to decode DNA and RNA. But omics ultimately matter because they drive behavior in cells - the smallest atomic unit of life. More and more research and drug development relies on understanding cell biology, but existing tools can't capture cell behavior over time, nor link phenotype directly to the multiomic drivers. Especially in this age of AI, we need better cellular data if we're going to realize the dream of curing many forms of disease.
