For our next summer intern spotlight, we are pleased to recognize Olivia Li, who has spent the past few months with our equity research team. As Olivia wraps up her internship this week, her curiosity and analytical mindset have added valuable perspective to our research efforts, and her readiness to collaborate across the firm has exemplified the culture we strive to foster at Diamond Hill. We asked Olivia to reflect on her experience: What was the highlight of your Diamond Hill internship? “The highlight of my internship this summer was the opportunity to connect with and learn from people across Diamond Hill. Working on the research team, I really enjoyed getting to know the portfolio managers and research analysts. The education sessions with teams across the firm taught me about everything from strategy and culture to sales, HR and business intelligence. I’m wrapping up the summer with a deeper understanding of how each part of the organization contributes to its success.” What’s something unexpected you learned? “Before the summer, I didn’t realize how much a firm’s people, culture and values shape the day-to-day work. It’s easy to say people matter, but this summer showed me how culture drives integrity and intellectual curiosity. Diamond Hill’s commitment to its principles has set a high bar for what I’ll look for in future workplaces and showed me that a firm’s culture and values are just as important as the people and the work.” Which Columbus experience should every future intern try, and why? “If you’re in Columbus during the summer, the Ohio State Fair is a unique experience. I’d never been to a state fair before, but the fried food, live music and pig races were way more fun than I expected. It’s a great way to spend an evening — you get a little bit of everything: food, rides and farm animals.” Thank you, Olivia, for spending your summer with us. We’re excited to see where your journey takes you next! #TeamDH

As summer winds down, we’re proud to spotlight one of our interns, Nicole Faupel, who spent the last few months contributing to our shared services team. Nikki brought curiosity, drive and insight to every project — and made a lasting impression across the firm. Before she heads back to the University of Michigan, we asked her to reflect on her internship experience. What was the highlight of your Diamond Hill internship? “The highlight of my internship was the opportunity to work across a variety of teams, from data analytics and product strategy to equity research and community partnerships. That exposure helped give me a complete view of how different groups work together to drive the firm’s long-term success. My favorite aspect of this was the chance to learn from so many different people with distinct skillsets and experiences. Being able to contribute to different areas of the business was rewarding and provided me with an invaluable experience.” What’s something unexpected you learned? “One of the most unexpected and valuable things I learned was how important it is to ask the right questions. Throughout all of my projects, I rarely had all of the answers or information available to me, and progress was found by framing the right problems and being intellectually curious. Strengthening this skill helped to reshape my critical thinking and made collaboration more impactful.” Which Columbus experience should every future intern try, and why? “Every intern should absolutely go to a Columbus Crew game. The loyalty of the fan base and the energy in the stadium was such a cool experience to be a part of, and it even made me a dedicated MLS follower. I would also recommend trying lots of local restaurants and coffee shops. While I could never say the food scene is better than in Ann Arbor, I will admit Columbus far exceeded my expectations!” Thank you, Nikki, for your contributions to Diamond Hill. We wish you continued success and can’t wait to see what you do next! #TeamDH
