The energy is high at #NABJ2025 in Cleveland! Robyn Benton, Production Assistant on the SportsCenter @ Night Highlights team, knows how impactful this conference can be. After attending NABJ last year, she landed her role at ESPN and is sharing her advice for making the most of the experience. “For those attending NABJ this year, I recommend coming prepared with a plan—know which sessions and events you want to attend and have your elevator pitch ready. Don’t hesitate to introduce yourself and network actively, as building connections is key. Take advantage of mentorship opportunities and attend workshops to learn new skills. Above all, embrace the community aspect of the conference by engaging openly and building genuine relationships. This mindset will help you get the most out of the experience.” 📍 Stop by booth #207 or catch us at the ESPN-sponsored panels to connect!

Last year, Jasmin Matthews showed up to NABJ with a dream and a resume. 💼 This year, she’s celebrating one year as a Production Assistant on SportsCenter @ Night through the ESPN NEXT Program. “Being able to talk with ESPN representatives in person allowed me to realize that my aspirations were achievable. For a company that so many people have grown up knowing about, sometimes it can feel like a far-fetched dream to actually land a job here.” 🔗 Want to learn more? Meet us at booth 207 or an ESPN-sponsored panel, and check out Jasmin’s story here: http://di.sn/6041f9Ei5

Excitement is building for #NABJ2025 in Cleveland! Miranda Thorpe, Vice President, Office and Production Management in Charlotte, is proud to serve as an Executive Champion this year. “I’ve had a great experience attending NABJ. One of my fondest memories is signing up to be a mentor and the relationship I developed with my mentee. I also enjoy connecting with so many different people in the business. Over the years, I’ve taken away bits and pieces I’ve heard in sessions and applied them in my job. My advice to those attending the conference is to come ready and fully prepared, with a polished, updated resume and a strong elevator speech. Network with as many people as possible while making meaningful connections. If you’re looking for a job, focus on roles that match your skill set. Attend sessions and listen for key takeaways you can apply after the conference. It’s a competitive business, so always ask yourself: what am I bringing to the table that someone else isn’t?” Be sure to stop by booth #207 or catch us at the ESPN-sponsored panels to connect!

We're at #AAJA25! We asked Maddie Rundlett, Associate Producer II, E60, about her experience at the conference and what she'd tell those attending this year. "When I attended AAJA for the first time last year, I met so many people not only in the sports industry but also within our company that I wouldn't otherwise meet. Having real, honest conversations with my community about navigating the journalism world as an Asian-American left me with a renewed sense of purpose in my own role at ESPN. I left the conference not only with some wonderful networking connections but also new friendships. The best advice I can give to someone attending the conference is to be open to conversation with anyone you encounter. We all have had such varied journeys in our careers, and chances are you will come away from every conversation with a new perspective. Everyone else is there to make connections and build their community, too, so there is no need to be nervous. I would also say that this doesn't just end with the conference – maintain those connections you made outside of just AAJA!"
