ICHRA is built on Finch. We’ve grown fast over the last 12 months and now support a majority of all the players in the market. Under an #ICHRA, employees choose an insurance plan on the open market, and the employer reimburses the premiums through payroll contributions up to a pre-defined limit. It’s a novel approach to employer-sponsored health benefits that mirrors the shift we saw in Retirement from defined benefits to defined contributions. With an ICHRA, the cost to the employer is more predictable and affordable, since employers set a cost limit per employee and the contributions are pre-tax. And more employees get access to coverage that is tailored to their specific needs. The Finch infrastructure delivers the tools needed to scale: reduced time-to-quote, streamlined onboarding, easy enrollment, and ongoing deductions/premium management. We expect to see a lot more innovation and growth in this space!

Policy changes often create the most unexpected business opportunities. 💰 The One Big Beautiful Bill Act just created a multi-billion dollar opportunity for tax credit apps and benefits platforms. Congress just passed sweeping legislation that expands R&D tax credits, increases childcare deductions to $500K annually, makes PFML credits permanent, and dramatically broadens HSA eligibility. Translation: employers are about to scramble for help maximizing these new tax breaks and benefit offerings. Our co-founder Ansel Parikh analyzed how platforms can capture demand by revealing which credits and benefits are expanding, why timing matters, and the strategic pillars that separate winners from losers. He breaks down: ▪️New revenue opportunities  ▪️Platform strategy essentials ▪️Integration imperatives  ▪️Immediate action items The platforms that prepare now will capture outsized market share. When it comes to a great integration strategy, less is more. Our customer 401GO perfectly demonstrates how payroll connectivity can help transform the retirement industry. Before Finch, a single integration build could take 401GO upwards of a year. Now, they use Finch to deliver key integrations faster — including Gusto. The result? Small businesses can use 401GO to set up a 401(k) plan in minutes by connecting their payroll system. "The retirement space is a really great example because like payroll, it's a very complex domain. And through Finch, a lot of that complexity is really able to be abstracted away." — Benjamin Kagan, Developer Relations at Gusto 📽 Watch the full video from our recent Developer Chat for more insights https://lnkd.in/eWXBM22U

💡 "Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, take what you're good at and integrate it with what others do best." Rett Behrens from Gusto's Developer Relations team perfectly captured why smart developers choose integration over reinvention. You may be a domain expert in time tracking or expense management, but do you really want to build a payroll system from scratch? Or tackle compliance? ❌ Companies that try to build everything end up being masters of none. ✅ Companies that integrate thoughtfully become exceptional at their core value proposition. The smarter approach: Focus on what you excel at and connect seamlessly with platforms that have already solved the complex problems you don't need to own. 🎤 Catch the full conversation between Finch and Gusto here. ➡️ https://https://lnkd.in/eWXBM22U

Earlier this month, Congress passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act: a sweeping piece of legislation with major implications for how employers support their workforce with numerous tax, spending, and benefits provisions. For tax credit platforms and benefits providers, this isn’t just a policy update — it’s a clear market signal. With expanded incentives for child care, paid leave, R&D, and HSAs/FSAs, more employers will need help navigating eligibility, enrollment, and payroll updates. That means more demand, more data, and more complexity. To stand out and scale with this moment, platforms should focus on three things: 🧠 Invest in the user experience – reduce friction, eliminate manual work ⚙️ Automate operations – connect to source systems and scale without adding headcount 🔒 Deliver world-class data security – transparency and trust are non-negotiable Here is a deeper dive on what this means for the industry and how we can prepare. https://lnkd.in/gqfkHjmj

One of the biggest rewards of working in infrastructure is the scope of your product’s impact — especially when you get to work with public companies like Morningstar. Morningstar provides independent investment insights in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. They provide data and research insights on a wide range of investment offerings and products and services to investors, financial professionals, asset managers, retirement plan providers and sponsors, and other institutional investors. I’m incredibly proud of the role Finch plays in supporting Morningstar’s mission to empower investor success and am excited to see continued infrastructure adoption across the full employment ecosystem.
