We are thrilled to share that initial type 1 diabetes data highlighting the curative potential of our hypoimmune (HIP)-based therapies have been published in the NEJM Group's New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM). We believe the results from this first-in-human investigator-sponsored trial, conducted in partnership with Uppsala University Hospital, represent both a scientific and medical breakthrough. We look forward to advancing SC451, our HIP-modified, cell-derived therapy with scalable manufacturing as a potential one-time treatment for patients with type 1 diabetes. • Chronic illnesses like Alzheimer’s, heart disease, and cancers don’t begin with symptoms — they begin in silence. At Flagship, we believe health breakthroughs will come from preventing disease from ever taking hold. That’s why we created our Preemptive Health & Medicine initiative — to predict and preempt disease before it starts. Explore how Flagship-founded Etiome is pioneering this approach, targeting the silent stages of disease progression, before symptoms ever appear, ushering in a future where more of us stay healthier, longer. • Wonder is at the heart of science - and at the heart of Flagship. This summer’s interns are asking big, bold questions, and helping us imagine what discovery looks like in the age of AI. #WeAreFlagship #BiggerLeaps

“As AI begins to allow us to program science, should we fear that it will turn scientists into engineers and take away the magic of discovery?”   I was struck by this question, asked by one of Flagship Pioneering's summer interns in my Q&A session with all of them today.    My answer? Science is inextricably about wonder. It’s fundamentally human to ask — why is this the way it is? How can I make it better? How can I grow better crops, or prevent disease, or know when it’s going to snow?    AI doesn’t interfere with wonder — it gives us new tools to wonder. And these new tools are infinitely more powerful than our individual brains, or even our collective brains. We can wonder bigger, better, and further than we’ve ever been able to before.    It’s no different than how humans used to walk wherever they wanted to go. Then they invented the wheel. Then they found that they could automate wheels into an automobile. And then they flew around in supersonic jets. It feels different to fly across the ocean than it does to paddle on a river, but not many of us paddle across the ocean when flying is an option. The opportunity to wonder at a supersonic scale is upon us, and I say we embrace it.   To take full advantage of the possibilities these new tools offer we will need both science and engineering mindsets. Blurring the line between them will be for the better, not the worse. But the core competency of the best scientists — the ability to look around you and simply wonder — isn’t going to change. Science will remain, if you’ll forgive me, “wonder-ful.”

New Study Between YourBio Health & Columbia University Irving Medical Center Validates Needle-Free Blood Collection for Fertility Hormone Monitoring   A prospective study conducted at Columbia University Fertility Center, published in Fertility & Sterility (2025), evaluated the accuracy and patient experience of the TAP Micro Select Device — a self-administered, needle-free capillary blood collection method — compared to traditional venipuncture.   📚 Study Design: 46 women undergoing fertility treatment provided paired blood samples: one via venipuncture, and one via TAP. Hormone concentrations for E2, LH, FSH, P4, and hCG were analyzed using FDA-cleared immunoassays on the same Beckman Coulter platform to ensure analytical consistency.   📊 Results: - Hormone levels obtained by TAP demonstrated strong concordance with venipuncture: - Spearman correlations ranged from 0.77 (hCG) to 0.99 (LH), all p < 0.00001 Concordance correlation coefficients > 0.97 for LH, FSH, and hCG - Pain was significantly lower for TAP (mean score 0.28 vs. 2.68; p < 0.001) 74% of participants preferred the TAP method; only 3% preferred venipuncture 💡Conclusion: Capillary blood collection using the TAP Micro Select Device enables accurate measurement of key reproductive hormones with significantly improved patient tolerability. This approach represents a viable alternative to venipuncture for repeated hormone monitoring during fertility treatment, with potential applications in both clinical and at-home settings.   📄 Reference: Lattin MT, DiBianco LP, Holcomb Z, et al. 🌱 CIBO’s New Partnership with Virginia Tech We are proud to announce that we’ve been selected as the technology partner for a groundbreaking $80 million USDA grant led by Virginia Tech University. The Alliance to Advance Climate-Smart Agriculture program will financially reward farmers in Arkansas, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Virginia for adopting conservation practices. Using our advanced modeling capabilities, we’ll quantify the environmental impact of practices like cover cropping and conservation rotation. This partnership shows how public-private collaboration can deliver financial incentives for farmers while enhancing agricultural resilience. As our CEO, Daniel Ryan, said, “This program aligns government funding with quantification tools to create a win-win for farmers, communities, and the planet.” Join us in driving sustainable agriculture forward! 💚 #CIBOTechnologies #ClimateSmartAg #SustainableAgriculture #VirginiaTech #RegenAg #Climate-Smart
