Happy birthday to our Dave's Killer Bread brand, which recently celebrated 20 years at the Portland Farmers Market where it was originally launched! We've been proud stewards of DKB since 2015 and have worked hard to keep the heart of the brand intact. In the last decade, we’ve continued to expand its advocacy for Second Chance Employment, which helps formerly incarcerated individuals re-enter the job market, to all our dedicated DKB bakeries and other Flowers bakeries. In recognition of the brand’s 20th anniversary, we have joined the Second Chance Business Coalition to continue our commitment to the cause by sharing best practices and promoting “the power of second chances” within other companies and industries. The flagship Dave’s Killer Bread bakery in Milwaukie, Ore., is one of our biggest advocates for Second Chance Employment – with nearly 40% of team members hired through the bakery’s second chance initiatives. Hear firsthand accounts from DKB employees who have benefitted from a second chance: https://lnkd.in/grKVhCw.
