The tragic events yesterday in Midtown Manhattan are a reminder of the dangers our first responders face in the line of duty. The loss the community and the New York City Police Department experienced is unimaginable, and the reverberation reaches far beyond the city lines. The psychological and emotional weight of the badge can be substantial. While first responders rush into an active crisis, others flee to safety. In the wake of tragedy, especially a fallen brother or sister, this weight can be unbearable. From the Forge Family, we send our prayers to all those affected by this tragedy. To all first responders: We’ve got your six 💙 #togetherweheal #peersupport #mourning #rememberthefallen #nypd #firstresponder #mentalhealth #stopthestigma #forgevfr #forgehealth

July is BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠 Not all communities have equal access to or support for mental health. BIPOC individuals face unique challenges rooted in systemic racism and discrimination, cultural stigma, and underrepresentation in care. Let’s always remember to: 🖤 Center BIPOC voices 🤎 Break the stigma 🧡 Advocate for accessible, culturally competent care 💛 Support healing in all communities This month and beyond, let’s listen, learn, and uplift all individuals because mental health is a priority, not a privilege. 🔗 Check out our latest blog post for ways to learn and support: https://lnkd.in/gbxhwG56 #BIPOCMentalHealth #mentalhealthawareness #culturallycompetentcare #endthestigma #mentalhealthmatters #togetherwehealth #bethedifference #breakthesilence #forgehealth

As the embedded clinician with the Salem Police Department, my work is focused entirely on supporting those who serve—our officers and team members of Salem PD. Law enforcement is an incredibly demanding profession. The daily exposure to trauma, high-stakes decision-making, and the weight of public responsibility can take a real toll. My role exists to help mitigate that impact—through confidential support, education, crisis intervention, and long-term wellness strategies. This partnership between mental health and law enforcement is not just beneficial—it’s essential. When we invest in the mental well-being of officers and staff, we strengthen the entire department. We build resilience, improve performance, and—most importantly—support the human beings behind the badge. I'm proud to support a department that understands the importance of mental health and takes proactive steps to care for its people. This kind of integrated support model should be the rule, not the exception. #OfficerWellness #EmbeddedClinician #LawEnforcementMentalHealth #SalemPD #FirstResponderSupport #TraumaInformedCare #BehindTheBadge #forgehealth

For many trans, nonbinary, and gender-diverse individuals, navigating mental health is complicated by stigma, discrimination, and a lack of understanding from providers. Gender affirmation in mental healthcare means more than using the right pronouns; it means creating safe, validating spaces where people can explore their identity without fear, judgment, or disregard. We’re proud to have the first #ForgeFeature of our spotlight series highlight a few clinicians at Forge who received their certification in gender affirming care and letters of support for gender affirming surgery. Read what they said about what drove them to obtain this certification ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 #SpotlightSeries #clinicianspotlight #genderaffirmingcare #genderaffirmation #lettersofsupport #identity #lgbtqia #yourmentalhealthmatters #youmatter #mentalhealth #hereforyou #forgehealth

What is a "defusing"? (as it relates to first responders and critical incident stress management) Defusing is an intervention that is a shorter, less formal version of a debriefing . It generally lasts from 30 to 60 minutes, but may go longer and is best conducted within one to four hours after a critical incident. It is not usually conducted more than 12 hours after the incident. Like a debriefing, it is a confidential and voluntary opportunity to learn about stress, share reactions to an incident and vent emotions. The main purpose is to stabilize people affected by the incident so that they can return to their normal routines without unusual stress. Where appropriate, a formal debriefing also be required.( ICISF provided definition) Today Eileen Meaney and I from Forge Health VFR program presented on defusings and how to best utilize them when appropriate. The State of New Hampshire and it's police and fire departments are seeing an increase in volume and severity of calls. Due to the nature of the calls and the timing of the calls,( often one after another), defusings can become a way to help the first responder (which includes dispatchers and communications), quickly ground themselves and begin to process these calls in a healthy manner before the next call, or before going home to their families. It is just one more tool for us to assist our heroes in staying resilient. We finished with lunch where we ran into Salem Police Officer Gomez, and his K-9 Lobo. Lobo is an explosives trained K-9 and was working diligently at the Tuscan Village Market.

Today, as we celebrate the freedom and resilience that define our nation, it's also a powerful time to reflect on the importance of mental freedom—the ability to feel safe, supported, and at peace within ourselves. Independence isn’t just about history or politics; it’s also about the personal battles we fight every day. This 4th of July, let’s honor the courage it takes to seek help, speak up, and support one another. Whether you're resting, reflecting, or celebrating, take a moment to care for your mental well-being and check in on those around you. Wishing you a safe, meaningful, and peaceful Independence Day ❤️🤍💙 #IndependenceDay #MentalHealthMatters #FreedomToBe #MentalFreedom #BreaktheStigma #SupportisHere #ForgeHealth
