This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern with Fortune-Johnson LLC, working on the Woodley at McGinnis Ferry project in Suwanee, GA. This project is a large-scale multifamily development consisting of 350 residential units across three main buildings, a clubhouse, and amenity spaces including a pool and pickleball courts.
Throughout the internship, I was exposed to various stages of construction, from framing and MEPs to drywall and finishing. Whether in the field or supporting the project management team, I gained valuable insight into the day-to-day operations that bring a project of this scale to life.
I'm extremely grateful to have learned so much and to have worked alongside such a knowledgeable and welcoming team.
A special thank you to Sara Ozment, CPA and Megan Craig for making this opportunity possible and for your support throughout the summer! I’d also like to thank the entire site team for their mentorship and guidance: Neal Walters, Tariq Louris, Ryan Sosebee, Grant Burnett, Ryan Swearingen, Daniel Campa, Josh Aragon, Martin Alviz, Abbas Naziri, and Juan Alviz. Your advice, patience, and willingness to teach made this an unforgettable experience.
I'm looking forward to applying everything I’ve learned as I head into my final year of college and beyond!
