Last week, our CCC Student Ambassador Program team joined students, practitioners, and advocates at the 2025 Basic Needs Summit at Napa Valley College. Foundation for California Community Colleges Equity Manager Marisela Hernandez, MBA co-presented “From Challenge to Collaboration: Wraparound Support for Basic Needs” alongside Ventura College partners Alma Rodriguez, Maria Crisosto Calderon, and Vanessa Gonzalez. Together, they shared how CalFresh outreach toolkits, campus basic needs teams, and peer ambassadors work together to connect students with food, financial aid, and Dreamer resources. This coordinated, wraparound support helps students stay enrolled and complete their higher-ed goals. Thank you to the Real College California Coalition and partners for convening this important space for basic needs innovation across California Community Colleges.
