📝 We have responded to EFRAG’s consultation on amending the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (#ESRS) – part of the #EUOmnibus simplification drive. ⚠️ We warn that weakening impact disclosures goes against EFRAG’s mandate to align with global standards - which risks adding costs for companies, and hindering the comparable disclosure stakeholders need. ✉️ In a letter from GRI CEO Robin Hodess, and GSSB Chair Carol Adams, we ask EFRAG to 👉 ✅ Eliminate ambiguity for companies by aligning with GRI’s well-established definition of impact materiality; ✅ Enhance interoperability with global standards, when deciding mandatory datapoints to retain; ✅ Address reduced ESRS coverage by using #GRIStandards to fill the gaps; ✅ Reconsider use of net-based approach to impact assessment, as it risks undermining reliable reporting.
