Our Prince Joshua Avitto Community Center offered free #BackToSchool haircuts for East New York youth and residents. Fresh styles help students feel confident as they begin a new school year. Proud to support our community’s young learners and their families! Thank you to Silk the barber for volunteering his skills! #commitment #education #brooklyn

Kicking off the week with a throwback to one of my favorite projects! I had the opportunity to lead the BK Nets’ Legacy Project, renovating the fitness room at Good Shepherd Services' Miccio Community Center in Red Hook after it was damaged by Hurricane Ida. We transformed the space with: 💪 Brand-new fitness equipment 🎨 Installation of murals celebrating the community 🙌 A safe, welcoming hub serving hundreds of youth and families every week I am now on the lookout for my next purpose driven role. Let’s connect if you’re building something impactful! #MondayMotivation #CommunityImpact #BrooklynNets #OpenToWork #YouthDevelopment #SocialImpact #Partnerships Before and after photos below CC: Roland Knight

Thank you to UBS for including Good Shepherd Services in your Intern Day of Service! We're grateful for the 260+ safety kits assembled for youth experiencing homelessness. These kits provide essential items that help young people stay safe and meet their basic needs during one of the most challenging times in their lives. Thank you to Jersey Cares for coordinating this event. #commitment #responsiveness #housing
Last week we hosted our annual Intern Day of Service introducing more than 260 summer interns in our New York and Weehawken offices to our firm’s culture of volunteerism. During the event, interns learned about the complex issue of housing insecurity many young adults face, and assembled more than 260 safety kits packed with essential items that will be distributed to youth experiencing homelessness served by local nonprofits York Street Project and Good Shepherd Services . A special thank you to Brian Hull, Executive Vice Chairman, Americas for welcoming the interns and highlighting the importance of philanthropy and community service to drive meaningful change, and to our longstanding partner Jersey Cares for coordinating this special event. We look forward to many more moments of impact with interns this summer! #shareUBS Learn more about our initiatives https://from.ubs/6041ShRul

Thank you to one of our newest board members, Joe Giambona, for spreading the word about our backpack drive! A backpack may seem like a small thing, but for a student, it’s a launchpad. It carries supplies, but also dignity, focus, and the tools to take on the new school year with confidence. We’ll be collecting throughout the summer, and we welcome everyone—whether you're an individual or a corporation—to get involved. Visit this link to donate today! https://lnkd.in/eq86_Xbc #backtoschool #responsiveness #backpackdrive #education
Help Students Start Strong This Fall! 🎒📚✏️ As the school year winds down, it's already time to look ahead and ensure every student is prepared for what's next. A core part of our mission Good Shepherd Services is to empower the next generation. It's why I'm personally invested in our annual backpack drive and encourage my network to contribute. For many families, the cost of school supplies can be a significant burden. Our drive aims to alleviate that stress by providing essential backpacks filled with supplies to students in need, giving them a confident start to the school year. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference in a child's life. It's more than just a backpack; it's a symbol of hope, opportunity, and the knowledge that their community believes in them. What was one school supply that made a big difference for you as a student? Share in the comments!! To contribute and help us empower the next generation, the donation link is in the first comment below! #BackpackDrive #GoodShepherdServices #CommunitySupport #EducationMatters #GiveBack Eric Douglas Michelle Yanche

New York City will use ranked choice #voting for Primary and Special Elections for the offices of Mayor, Public Advocate, Comptroller, Borough President and City Council. You can rank up to five candidates in order of preference: your 1st choice candidate, your 2nd choice candidate, and so on up to your 5th choice candidate. Even if your top choice doesn't win, you can still help choose who does. Watch our video to learn more about it. https://lnkd.in/e_aBfRy7 Annie Minguez

Some of you watched our Founder's Day and Staff Recognition celebration on FB Live last week, where we honored our incredible staff serving 5 to 35 years at Good Shepherd Services. Congratulations to all of our honorees! Behind every milestone is a story of #compassion, #boldleadership, and the genuine connections that define our community. A special shout out to this year's amazing hosts Alyssa Garcia and Roland Knight! Photo Credit: Jamaal Dozier

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗔 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜’𝗺 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 🚀💡 A little late to post, but last week was truly 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀. I had the chance to experience 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 — and wow. From exploring the city with my mom (because yes to combining work and play 🙌), to connecting with investors, customers, and incredible humans across the industry, it was nonstop inspiration 🎤 A standout moment: attending Fintech Is Femme alongside my co-founder Aaron Gregory and teammate Justin Chukumba — two men who consistently show up for women in fintech. Huge shoutout to Nicole Casperson and Anton Briones for throwing a powerful, intentional, and wildly impressive event. 💥 And to top it all off? I had the honor of joining the 3rd annual National Financial Literacy Month celebration at the NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE 🏛️ alongside Cross River, Mastercard, Percent, and Good Shepherd Services. We welcomed 140+ 𝗡𝗬𝗖 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 to the NYSE and got real about credit, investing, entrepreneurship — and what it takes to break into financial services. ✨ Seeing the Upward (Upwardli) logo across the NYSE trading floor was surreal — a reminder of how far we’ve come, and how much further we can go. The students came curious, sharp, and bold — asking real questions about how to build a career in fintech. The path isn’t always linear. But I’m endlessly grateful for the 𝘂𝗽𝘀, 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻-𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀. Let’s keep building. 🛠️💙 Shoutout to my fellow panelist and friends Jexie Youssef, MBA | Ibrahim Urooj Saeed | Cosku Cobanoglu | Ginger Siegel | Prath Reddy, CFA | Tad Nacheff | Nicole Selena Henderson | shaun lynda
