This morning, we officially cut the ribbon on GoodTrades — our new educational center designed to equip North Florida residents with in-demand construction skills and pathways to meaningful careers. At GoodTrades, students first earn their NCCER Core credential and then advance into Residential Carpentry or Plumbing training, creating clear pathways into the skilled trades. Special thanks to our educational partners, HBI (Home Builders Institute) and Florida State College at Jacksonville; our generous donors, City of Jacksonville and Council Member Rahman K. Johnson, Ph.D. , Tom Trout, Inc., IPEX, and Bush Construction Company, whose leadership helped secure the funding that made this project possible. Over 200 people lined up to celebrate the Grand Opening of our new Epic Village location in St. Augustine! This brand-new facility features an expanded sales floor, a drive-thru donation center, and St. Johns County’s first GoodCareers Center, providing career services and workforce development opportunities to strengthen our community. A special thank-you to the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce for joining us, and to Isabelle (Rodriguez) Renault for sharing a few words before the ribbon was cut. We are also deeply appreciative of Senator Tom Leek and Representative Sam Greco, whose support through the State of Florida helped make the launch of our first GoodCareers Center in St. Johns County possible. This summer, TeensWork Alachua intern Josie is making an impact both at her internship with Kelly’s Kreations and in the community! After noticing leftover floral materials from a shipment, Josie suggested repurposing them into small bouquets for residents at Plantation Oaks Senior Living. Working alongside her supervisor, she helped create beautiful arrangements that brightened the residents’ day. Her initiative shows how TeensWork Alachua interns are building skills, giving back, and spreading joy. Way to go, Josie!
