Haley Ward is proud to be working alongside the Friends of the Veterans Memorial Library in Patten, Maine to help bring their vision for a vibrant, multi-use community hub to life. Our team has provided programming and concept design, cost estimation and design revisions based on available funding, site evaluation and environmental assessment, on-site workshops, and submission to USDA Rural Development for approval. We also assisted with the creation of fundraising materials to support their efforts. This project isn’t just a library. The planned facility will include a library, children’s area, coworking space, a commercial teaching kitchen, makerspace, genealogy and archives room, flexible space and community café, soundproof private meeting rooms, and a large community meeting space. Today we’re excited to recognize Amara Litten, a Senior Survey Technician in our Fort Myers, Florida office, for reaching two major professional milestones. Amara recently passed the Fundamentals of Surveying exam, earning her LSIT designation, and earlier this year became a licensed drone pilot after passing the FAA Part 107 test! Since joining Haley Ward in 2024, Amara has brought a strong work ethic and a passion for the profession, whether she’s out in the field or back at the office. She’s currently pursuing a degree in Surveying Engineering Technology online through the University of Maine, and we’re proud to support her continued growth. Yesterday marked the ribbon cutting for a new 16-unit affordable housing development in Newcastle, Maine, and Haley Ward is proud to have supported the project with site and civil design, and surveying services. Led by developer Rob Nelson and largely funded by MaineHousing, with additional support from the American Rescue Plan Act and the Town of Newcastle, this project is already in high demand. Newcastle Town Manager Kevin Sutherland shared that there’s already a waitlist for the one-bedroom units, which are priced at $1,481/month and reserved for individuals making less than $55,280 or couples earning under $63,200 annually. Maine Governor, Janet Mills joined local and state leaders to celebrate this step forward in addressing Maine’s housing shortage. Farr, will be speaking alongside Ivy Vann at Build Maine’s PlaceCode: Code Writers Training on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
