Our preschoolers had an unforgettable visit from Greenburgh Nature Center, where they got up close and personal with some amazing animal friends. From petting a slithery snake to meeting a curious ferret, a gentle turtle, and a spiky bearded dragon, our students were all smiles and wide eyes. Today 7th grade French horn student Jack Doll, son of our very own School Age Westchester Principal, Amanda Doll; presented a demonstration of the French horn for Pre-K and Westchester School Age classes. He played several selections, including Andante by Schubert and Serenade from Don Giovanni by Mozart. Jack has been playing French horn for 2 1/2 years, and has enjoyed participating in NYSSMA festivals and All County Band. He highly recommends the Dutchess Community College Academy of Music for students seeking individual lessons. Our students were so excited to welcome Jack, who put on a great show during school! Everyone was curious, engaged, and had a blast learning about the instrument. It was such a fun way to bring music to life for our students.
