Highgate’s Green Team Gets to Work at Inwood Hill Park! Highgate’s Green Team recently joined forces with Natural Areas Conservancy for a volunteer day focused on preserving one of NYC’s last natural forests. Over 35 volunteers contributed 140 hours to clean gullies, maintain trails, and remove invasive species—directly supporting the health of native habitats. At the recent HSMAI Commercial Strategy Conference, Ankur Randev, Principal & Chief Commercial Officer at Highgate, joined industry peers for a thoughtful discussion on Orchestrating Excellence: Crafting a Unified Commercial Strategy in Hotels.   A central topic was the ongoing need for stronger alignment across commercial functions and how artificial intelligence could help close these gaps and make this vision a reality. Highlighting the urgency of this shift, Ankur remarked: “AI is ineluctable and ubiquitous. As an industry, we must accelerate what is going to happen anyway.”   Reflecting on the conversation, he added that AI marks a pivotal moment for the hospitality industry, presenting an opportunity to rethink how we operate and elevate our results. He noted: “AI will become a force multiplier of sorts, enabling us to work smarter and more collaboratively. We won! LUCID — Highgate’s in-house Design & Construction Group — has been recognized at the 21st annual HD Awards by Hospitality Design magazine for its role as developer of Romer Neighborhood Hotels. This marks the first award for the Romer brand and a proud moment for the Highgate team.   Among more than 1,000 entries, LUCID and The Studio — Highgate’s in-house Branding & Creative Agency — were named finalists five times across four categories, including double recognition in one, and proudly took home three awards.   Selected by a panel of leading industry voices, the HD Awards celebrate excellence across 30 categories and evaluate projects based on innovation, function, sustainability, purpose, and overall impact.
