Ethan, a 20-year-old participant in our My First Place™ program, shared compelling testimony with the Massachusetts legislature about personally experiencing sibling separation while in foster care and the importance of supporting this bill. 👏 👏 There is significant research showing the benefits of siblings being placed together when in #fostercare. Our very own Julie Segovia, Ph.D recently testified on Beacon Hill to the Joint Committee on Children, Families, and Persons with Disabilities in support of H.235/S.107: An Act Establishing a Bill of Rights for Children in Foster Care. The bill ensures that EVERY child experiencing foster care in Massachusetts has access to the resources and supports they need to thrive, including medical and dental care, educational stability, appropriate foster care placements, connection to family and identity, and targeted supports for youth who are transitioning out of the foster care system and into adulthood.
