  • If you're only looking at temperature and #RelativeHumidity when designing for moisture control you're not seeing the full picture. To get dehumidification right, you must calculate the absolute humidity of the space, that is the actual mass of water vapor in the air. Why? Because RH is a moving target. It changes with temperature. Two spaces can have the same relative humidity but vastly different moisture loads. And if you size your system based on RH alone, you could end up with: • Undersized or oversized equipment • Poor indoor air quality • Condensation and mold issues • A building that doesn’t perform as intended 💡 Trust us, it gets people in trouble all the time. That’s why at Innovative Air Technologies, we lead with #psychrometrics and design for absolute moisture content, not assumptions. #HVACDesign

  • How does silica gel actually work to remove moisture from the air? We’ve all seen those little packets labeled “Do Not Eat” in packaging but silica gel isn’t just for those boxes left on your front porch. In desiccant dehumidification systems, silica gel is the powerhouse behind moisture removal. It doesn’t absorb water like a sponge, instead, it adsorbs water vapor (keeping it in its vapor state) onto its surface. Thanks to its incredibly high surface area (about 800 m² per gram!), silica gel traps moisture at the molecular level. 💡 From food processing to pharmaceuticals, and aerospace to archives, silica gel is the hero in our desiccant dehumidification systems. • What happens to relative humidity when we lower the temperature in a space? 🤔 It’s a simple question with big implications for #HVAC design, indoor air quality, and moisture control. (📉 Hint: The answer is right there on the psychrometric chart or you can use our Psychrometric Calculator https://lnkd.in/e-sNuPYp ) Understanding this relationship is so important, especially in environments like cleanrooms, museums, and healthcare facilities, where moisture control is non-negotiable. So let’s hear it: 💬 What do YOU think happens to RH when temperature drops? Drop your answer in the comments ⬇️ #Psychrometrics #HumidityControl #DesiccantDehumidification

  • In relation to temperature & #relativehumidity, should we be designing hospitals and operating rooms the same way we design residential homes? It’s a valid question, and one worth revisiting as we push for smarter, healthier, and more resilient building designs. In our homes, we often prioritize comfort. But in #healthcare settings, the stakes are much higher. We're not just keeping people comfortable, we're protecting patients, supporting sterile environments, and controlling airborne contaminants. Tell us what you think 📝 What differing considerations should be taken when designing commercial buildings (particularly hospitals & O.R.'s) as opposed to designing residential spaces. #HumidityControl #DesiccantDehumidifier

  • 🐾 Precision humidity control for our furry, feathered, or perhaps reptilian 🐍 friends 🧪💧 This 600RE-IDP #DesiccantDehumidifier is headed to a veterinary lab, delivering 600 CFM of outdoor-rated performance in a G90 galvanized steel package. With chilled water post-cooling and our iControl Premium PLC, it brings outside air from 81°F @ 132.2 gr down to a crisp 63°F @ 2.72 gr, perfect for maintaining clean, stable lab conditions.
