Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center’s Newberg Wellness Center is a renovation and addition to an existing building, expanding the health, dental, and wellness services they’re able to provide to the community. Scott Edwards Architecture collaborated closely with Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center to develop a design that responds to staff and patient input, the program requirements, and supports the delivery of culturally appropriate healthcare to their primary demographic, the Latinx community. The experience of patients and staff is prioritized in functionality and flexibility, ample natural light and access to outdoor spaces, a comfortable interior guided by trauma-informed design principles, and sustainability strategies, all measures that promote well-being in the healthcare environment. “This is not just for the sheriff's office, this is absolutely for the community we serve,” Sheriff Nick Hunter told the crowd as Marion County, Oregon broke ground on their new Marion County Sheriff's Office Evidence Facility Building in Salem, Oregon last Wednesday. Members from the Mackenzie team along with Robinson Construction Co. joined officials from Marion County to celebrate this milestone for the area’s public justice system. Mackenzie, along with Interface Engineering, Inc., designed this new 10,000 square foot, single-story, state-of-the-art evidence processing and storage facility for the Sheriff’s Department.  The building will preserve the materials that play a critical role in investigations and court proceedings with the highest standards of care, as well as maintain the chain of custody.

Plant Construction Company, LP returned to Meals on Wheels San Francisco nearly five years after completing the facility to install a new backup generator. This critical work will allow the nonprofit kitchen to remain operational for three days in the event of a power outage or grid failure, allowing homebound seniors to continue to be served. We are happy to be associated with this awesome organization that does so much for the City and County of San Francisco community! The new U.S. Embassy Guatemala City received a Jury Award in the Government & Civic Buildings category of the Architizer A+Awards. Located in the eastern foothills of the Valle de la Ermita, the embassy is designed to express openness and strength, emerging from a terraced site as a stone base and a transparent glass tower. The project reflects the durability of U.S.-Guatemala diplomacy while prioritizing performance, seismic adaptability, and a respectful relationship to the surrounding landscape. Designed by LEVER, the adidas Headquarters Expansion and Gold Building, is a major addition to adidas’ Portland, Oregon campus. The LEED Gold-targeted project includes two signature mass timber buildings organized around a new central sports plaza, strengthening internal connectivity and enhancing landscape ties to the surrounding neighborhood. The 182,000 sf Gold Building includes four levels of open, flexible workspace, a maker lab, and community spaces, including a dining hall and living green wall, reflecting biophilic design principles. The campus expansion also includes a new below-grade parking garage and arrival court. As one of the largest mass timber projects in the U.S., the project uses a hybrid structure of precast concrete and regional timber, advancing mass timber construction and reinforcing adidas’ Pacific Northwest identity. Broadleaf Arbor Apartments has been recognized as a 2025 Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon Top Project! Located in St. Helens, Oregon, this 239-unit affordable housing community was developed by Community Development Partners (CDP) and designed by MWA Architects with a shared vision of creating a sustainable, intergenerational campus that supports the Columbia County community, where almost half of all households classify as low-income.
