Quick and appropriate action in the event of a security incident is no longer just a recommendation – it is now a legal obligation. With the enforcement of the Information Security Act 2 (ZInfV-2), obligated companies and organizations must report any security incident that could significantly impact the provision of their services within 24 hours. SI-CERT has prepared clear instructions for reporting an incident, including forms and technical details. We recommend familiarizing yourself with them in advance so that taking the right action is not left to chance, but is part of a plan. Our cyber incident analyst, Alex Crgol, emphasizes that timely incident reporting is crucial – not only due to legal requirements but also for effectively containing damage and preventing further attacks.
