    🤔 Are you the perfect fit for a position in a $Billionaire Family Office??? Trick question... There is no perfect fit! Ultra Wealthy Family Offices are each completely unique. Culture is driven by the Principal / Family. 1️⃣ Educational Requirements? -Some require Top-10 MBA's and upper echelon schools. -Others focus on the right experience and are satisfied with the minimum educational requirement. 2️⃣ Previous Industries? -Some ONLY hire candidates who have worked in another family office. -Some require upper echelon companies -Others prefer industry experience related to the Family's investment portfolio. -Private company experience may be the only pre-requisite. -Occasionally a great culture fit and personal referral to the family will land someone a role with zero relevant prior experience. 3️⃣ How much prior experience is required? - Families do not like change so they want to envision new hires working for the family for an extended period. - Many families try to align level of experience of their team with the level of experience of the most active generation served by the Family Office. - Families also plan for succession well in advance of projected retirements so they are often willing to train someone rising, given most duties in a family office will be unique and proprietary to the family.   • 😨 Has the "work family" become extinct? 😨 🪓 Private Equity Ownership 🪓 Company Consolidations 🪓 Mergers & Acquisitions 🪓 Working From Home 🪓 Growth At All Costs Each of these activities has contributed to extinction of the "work family" 😭 Employees are constantly forced to look over their shoulders for possible acquisitions, layoffs, or even company relocations. When employees feel unsettled, it is nearly impossible to build a "work family" culture. In public companies, employees are a bad Quarter away from layoffs and major changes.
